Interested to see what Dee's - Dogs - Crows fans think of their clubs new coach selections.

Brendan McCartney - Dogs $500,000 - $550,000

Brenton Sanderson - Crows $450,000 - $500,000

Mark Neeld - Melb $400,000 - $450,000

Are you happy with whom you got, or would you prefer one of the other two clubs selection and how much do you think they will be on per year (my $ guestimates)

Only select from the above coaches.

Very Happy.

When Bail's was sacked I wanted either Malthouse, Choco (for the lulz) or Neeld.

Getting Neeld means that we can afford to give him some decent assistant coaches to works with.

Could not be happier. I think we got the right man just listening to everything that comes out of his mouth. Let's hope he can back it up with the results on the field. I'm very confident he will.

The Dogs got it very wrong. Rhode mkII.

He is a likeable football guy, but will get found out with the responsibility of a senior coach. Is that true what they are paying him? Weird that he would demand more the Neeld.

No they didn't, ffs you don't even know McCartney and you come to a stupid conclusion like this? Mark my words, he will not end up like Rohde, McCartney is an extremely smart man when it comes to football, he developed players like Gary Ablett Jr, Bartel and practically all of Geelong's premiership players.

Even Hird valued him better than Bomber, McCartney is a very smart man, write him off at your own peril

Should only people who personally know McCartney post in this thread? Do you?

I know more about him than you would realise and I will be proven correct.
So McCartney is destined to fail? Despite achieving a lot of things as assistant?

You're basically saying he is going to fail, without even having given him a chance to prove himself yet. I'm not saying he will succeed or he will fail, but atleast give him a chance to prove himself

pretty happy with sanderson. anyone know how mcartney actually got noticed by richmond 11 years ago. i know he coached 4 premierships in country or suburban footy but how do you get signed up to be an assistant at an afl club by doing that and never even played at state league level

These clubs got it spot on and well done to em all. I predicted 2 from 3, but McCartney has so many runs on the board it's not funny. I didn't know Bulldogs had him in mind but well done.

Crows got it right, don't know too much about the other two to comment. For the sake of their clubs I hope they're onto winners who can change the culture and fabric of their clubs. Especially for the Bulldogs.

I love these threads. Where BigFooty Big Statements have even less relevance.None of us have the slightest clue about what a senior coach job really entails. None of us know what sort of presentation these guys put up. No one knows what the criteria each club demanded from it's prospective coaches.

In 2005, Richmond got Wallace and the Hawks got Clarkson. The general consensus on here was Richmond had scooped the pool, and Hawthorn had installed a gnome they found in the back garden. Please dont remind a Tiger supporter how that turned out.

When Carlton got Pagan he was cited as the Best Current Coach (trademarked). He took Carlton to its first ever wooden spoons.

Bomber Thompson was roundly derided for years. Now he is a respected eminence grise.

Wait and see.

Ok then, why is this? Enlighten us to how you have come to this conclusion.
He has never been a senior coach, so you sure can't say it is from past experience. What possible reason can you give to say he will fail?

Im very happy with the selection. I wanted either McCartney or Neeld, so im glad we got one of them.

Stoked with Sando. SA Boy, outside experience, bringing a culture of hardness and skill from Geelong.

Initially preferred Neeld, but the more I think about it, the more stoked I am with Sanderson. His presser and interview on 5AA was stellar.

Purely from a media performance perspective, Sanderson is the most impressive. I guess having been a player of some profile helps in that regard, anyway.

And... that's the only perspective we can really go on at the moment. Seriously, how would anyone know yet whether they've made the right choice or not?

Firstly how do you know what they are getting? and yes I'm happy with Neeld and would've thought he would get just as much as the others, in particular McCartney who never played AFL/VFL footy, how could he be getting the most? no way.

No idea at the moment.

However our coach seems to tick all the boxes in what we are looking for at the moment considering the rebuild we are about to undertake.

Pagan had nothing to play with, his list was fourth rate.

It may have something to do with him having been a coach at AFL level for longer than the other two combined?

If the figures are correct of course.

Yup, each will win a flag within four years! They got it that right. You know, two days in to their appointments I just know this for sure.

For sure.

Sorry, looks like I have confused people re the how much do you think they are on per year per year.

I did put in brackets (my $ guestimates) but I think I should have asked 2 questions instead and clarified what the (my $ guestimates) meant.

1. Are you happy with whom you got, or would you prefer one of the other two clubs selection.

2. How much do you think they will be on per year (my $ guestimates)
