My new computer is GOD! I am so happy to have it, it's great compared to my old computer. This one is definetly going to improve my gaming :D. Not to mention how fast things will work on it. I love it. :thumbsu:

If I had a cam, I'd post glamour shots of my new baby. :D

I suppose it has Vista instead of XP as an OS? If so, you're going to have fun with silly errors and compatibility issues.:o Still jealous though, it's infinitely better than mine.:o

I have XP, btu can only use 2GB Ram, due to XP's capabilities.

I'll wait on Vista to be patched up (3 years) before I get it. That willonly be for DX10, too. *sigh*

The Quad Core is abit overkill at the moment :D
Not many programs out there that support it or more the fact would use the Quard core system to it's best.
 
Who uses the oldest computer at home? I got mine in September 2001 (very memorable month that one!). It is as slow as a wet week and likes to crash whenever I work from home. My old Atari 2600 is better for games.

I have been planning to buy a laptop for about 2 years but the computer-ese of the ads scares me. I have no idea what I should pay - I will be a computer salesperson's dream customer! Think Homer towing his computer by a rope behind his car!

That computer would have been 1 gb hard drive and 600mhz CPU :D
 
Currently in the market for a new laptop, this one is getting a little flakey, (I have had it for nearly 3 years and its been all over the world).

Harvey Norman has 30 months interest free at the moment, will probably give them a go.

My partner has a lap top which is what we use at home now but my pc still works and I have used it ocassionally in the last couple of years. Got it in 1999 has 32meg of ram and a 4.5 gig hard drive and runs windows 98. Compaq presario with an intel pentium processor, was the ducks nuts when I bought it!!! Tried loading windows 2000 onto it and it shat itself! Reverted to 98 and runs fine, only reason it is slow is cos it runs on dial up.

do I win for the oldest? :D

Go for a Acer Travelmate, I got one for $700 through my school and it is a great companion, I can Photoshop in the car!

Thats sweet as man!!!

This is a pic I took of my case, suits my name hey :D Since its my gaming name vipertooth.

The parts inside are almost a year if not more old so its pretty redundant in tech but still plays most games that are comming out atm smoothly, So I am not going to upgrade to i drasticly need too.

My current Laptop is an Acer Travelmate (4501LMI model).

Its been a fantastic system, and has been beaten and bashed around throughout my world travels. Only now is it starting to succumb.

Will definitely be looking at another Acer this time around. Reliable systems, and unlike other manufacturers, they don't take the piss with their pricing.

Just something I had going through my school, they bulk-ordered so they recieved a price drop. it was a one off and that's why we got it with atleast $250 off.

Vipe- I like ya case, I was going to get a Spiderman one, btu I thought the Coolmaster case was too good, it has 3 fans! :thumbsu: I updated for Huxley and Supreme Commander, btw.

Yeah I've bashed Acer laptops around with work for quite a few years now and have never once had an issue.... currently bought a cheapo Aspire from DSE for about $800 for presentations...too slow for much else though... debate the whole power saving M processor before you buy a laptop...

Geez... with all this Acer support you'd reckon there'd be enough room on the team uniform somewhere for a logo... or at least a sign or two at the ground... C'mon Acer...how bout it???:rolleyes:
