This is just nit-picking but the club put out a picture with four signings to be made this week am I correct? I'm very happy to see the three that we were informed of but in light of everything they stated four and I believe they should have given us four. It's little things like this that mean a lot. I have read a lot of people being fairly hyper-critical of the club on a lot of issues but not following through on this is dropping he ball IMO.

Wasn't the fourth signing a sponsor?

FWIW, those re-signings lead to great media coverage. I'm not critical of the club at all.

The club never stated 4 signings this week. They simply said there would be multiple signings over the coming days. People assumed since there was 4 spots on the picture, and the first announcement was tuesday, there would be 1 each day for the rest of the week. The club hasnt dropped the ball on anything because it never promised anything.

Greg Davis also mentioned there would be 2 more signings, so it will be interesting to see if there is an extra one in the near future besides the 4 advertised.

Ok cool, making assumptions can only lead to being disappointed (ask my wife). I'm just tired of all the negative publicity and I am pumped about the three and others like Mayes who have signed in this year. I just wanted a big middle finger to the journos down south as it's a rarity for a club to announce four key signings in a week, and yes I realise so is three.

Connecting these signings to no Voss is 1 + 1 = 7. Likewise the players that left, if it was Voss, he was out the door before they were, they could have stayed, Voss was gone.

It seems strange though. You'd have thought if they were flagging four signings in an image like that, and leaking stuff to journalists (presumably) that they were all set to rattle these off one after the other.

I think this goes back to a systemic issue this club has had for some time, whereby coordinating the...different...elements...of the...whatsit....

In the paper today Greg Davis wrote up Close has signed on until the 2017 season (so 3 years) which is excellent news. No link for it though.

Yeah if I could get a link to it I would, but it basically said Leppitsch thinks he's a combination of Richo and Brown, competes well and could be a future no 1. forward for the club.

Fingers crossed he comes out today and has an impact. What would be a pass mark for close todAy 10 goals.

I'd be a bit surprised if we signed him up until 2017, before he even plays a senior game. But I wouldn't be disappointed with it, he is the best young forward prospect at the club. Does have some nice attribute that will fit right in with modern football/

I like him a lot more than Lisle. I havent seen him in a proper AFL game but he attacks the contest hard, elite endurance, creates pressure, clunks marks, is very tall, strong, usually is quite reliant on his set goal kicking and he will be very good for our gameplan as it requires pressure in the forward half. I dont think Lisle has too many of those attribute. Very happy if this 3 year contract is true.

But I guess we must really rate him. It'll be interesting to see how Close, Michael, Bourke and Freeman turn out. Surely at least 1 of them will become a decent KPF...I hope.

Forwards take time. I have no problem with giving him the time. He wouldn't be on a big wage.
