Dislike the new Guernsey. I like the yellow heritage one but it seems that we were always we going to be stuck with white. Apologies to Rory for hijaking his template. Really though.....If we had to have white. What would have been wrong with this?

Far better than this one that Reebok and the AFC board call a 'Jumper'.

Every time we come out with a new monstrosity of a guernsey I am glad I bought one of those at the time and can wear it with pride!

Here's my take on what the guernseys should look like. Obviously I've based it on the one we've just seen released but simplified things a bit. I like the yellow the best but I guess its a possible clash with West Coast as would the red with a couple of teams.

I actually like the red version, would like to see how it would look with our old logo though.

I am pretty disappointed with our club at the moment. We are a young club, who is building a proud history but I feel this is a backwards step to further building on it. We have soldout and gone for some quick cash at the detriment of the clubs soul.

The jungle drums are loud on this one, the vast majority of people dont like the logo, Trigg keeps saying it wil grow on us, well Stephen we dont want it to grow on us. The public have spoken, swallow your pride and listen to your members not some wanky marketing people who just sit on the net all day and copy other teams logo and design. What were they actually paid for? What did they design? How can they justify charging the club with what they have produced?

At this stage we all can have an opinion on the basis of one Guernsey.

But I don’t think you can really tell until you see the whole team running around in it and in full uniform – both in close up and from a distance (on TV for the away games).

I wasn’t initially keen on the away Guernsey for last year, but I did come to like it, especially after continuing to win so many away games.

The club has stated that we will wear it 5 to 6 times in 2010. And because we will only have the ONE clash strip for away games, we will get wear our beloved tricolour hoops in the other 16 to 17 games – FANTASTIC.

So the big plus is that we get to see out traditional tricolours more often.

This is definitely a plus - IMO there should be no such thing as an away strip only a clash strip.

Still think the new one looks crap - so many examples on this thread look much better...

I don't mind it.
It did look a bit strange in the paper this morning though, but they had a weird camera angle which probably added to it.
Not a fan of the normal one though.
This year's was traditional, but still had a bit of character, that one just doesn't look right.
Stripes go too high up and the red seems too bright.
Collar is a bit too wide too. All of it just doesn't look to fit right.

They all look pretty bad but of the 3 the yellow is the best by a mile. Its the logo which I think destroys the guernsey, it looks like a kids cartoon character not the logo of a strong football club. I'm not a huge fan of white guernseys but the white jumper would have looked ten times better with our old Crows logo instead of Randy the Raven from C'mon Kids.

I must admit. I also hoped they would have doen something with our home guernsey as it has way too many hoops. The AFC has among the worst guernseys in the AFL.

It's not a clash with those teams because we won't wear it against them!! When we can, we will wear the hooped jumper.

From (funnily enough) afc.com.au...

The Crows will now wear the white guernsey for the majority of their away matches but against some teams (including Geelong and Sydney) the AFL has approved the team wearing the traditional home guernsey.

The AFL advised the Adelaide Football Club that a white base was its preferred option if a club consolidated its away and clash jumpers.

So the default away strip (before clash considerations) is...? Article says white, you seem to be saying hoops.

That's why it will never be yellow and i can't imagine why people keep harping on about the heritage guernsey. WE WORE THAT WITH NAVY SHORTS!!! in a HOME game! we cannot wear navy shorts with a clash jumper the AFL will not allow it and the yellow guernsey with white shorts looks ****ing atrocious, just as this does. Watching 22 run around in it will make you vomit much like it does in amateur level when they make us wear yellow guernseys for clashes.

The problem is he logo more than the colour

It's pretty clear that they were thinking about the Gold Coast (who plagiarised our colours) when they designed this strip, hence we ended up with a white jumper.

It wouldn't be that easy to make a decent looking jumper with our colours, although the state of origin jumper and the jumper Fitzroy wore in their latter years are both exceptional looking.

Can't Port Power hurry up and fold so we can use the state guernsey? :D

I admit those designs are better than the one we got. I would settle on the white one!
In all honestly I don't love the either of the new jumper and I can't believe all the negativity about the away jumper. The only complaints I have are 1. I hate the wider strips on the home jumper 2.The fact they aren't tight anymore.
I'm not loosing sleep over it.

Well I reckon Crows should have had a shield logo incorporating their original logo, kinda like what the English Premier Leagues usually do (Like Arsenal's logo or so). Also as a clash strip they should have a fluro coloured guernsey like their training top with Adidas. I don't believe in an away strip for AFL. Clash yes.

Awww what - no more tight guernseys :(:( i actually liked them - seeing their abs through the guernseys was the best part of going to training :p

The new away guernsey looks good :thumbsu: the logo has actually grown on me and I quite like it. Although, I'm not keen on the "HYBRID" above Toyota . The "on field" tops are too plain - they need more red & yellow! the women's supporter tops look good with the extra red and yellow in it. Don't like the pre-season "on field" tops - they look like a top that people wear to play golf...

Edit: also - how come reebok was able to make their sponsor thing on the neck dark blue to blend in, but adidas made the bib last year yellow?! :thumbsu: to reebok!

I would expect that all jumpers including the away jumper to remain tight fitting, the jumper that Vince wore was way too baggy and I can't see the players running out in thst type of fitting jumper where opposition players would find it too easy to grab hold on in a tackle

I actually like the design but in saying that I would not be a fan of white shorts and socks

Someone emailed 5AA this morning, summed it up pretty well. The club said we need to let the guernsey grow on us, well why didnt they just get it right in the first place?

what you see is what you will get, Reebok don't make them tight that is only an adidas thing only, Essendon, Colingwood and us last year. It was one of the reasons they went away from it, the players didn't like them or how they rode up

Re: New apparel sponser: Reebok

Polos and Training gear suck! Such a downgrade from the Adidas gear. Thankfully my Adidas gear doesn't need any updating.
Adidas owns Reebok so all the merch is made in the same factory... just poor design. actually the adelaide football club have a lot of input into what design they want, it's not just reebok that does all of it.

no they don't, like with all merch brands its the same base design with different colour schemes, our polos (on and off-field varieties) will look exactly like Port's and Fremantle's just in our colours like they are every year with teams sponsored by the same clothing manufacturer.

Re: New apparel sponser: Reebok

people keep going on about white shorts with the Yellow top...... yellow would be considered a light colour therefore you could wear yellow shorts!

That would look as bad or even worse IMO

All yellow! :thumbsd:

A yellow top could work as an alternative home guernsey so you could use navy shorts. But personally I don't want an alternative home guernsey!

Re: New Away Gurnsey Announced

The desing is somewhat not original and the logo looks pretty crap to say the least. I don't believe there was any massive uproar when Hawks and Geelong changed their logos and alternative guernsey designs. Maybe we should have hired one of their designers!

On Adelaidenow there is a link to a Crows guernsey which has a similar design but with a yellow background. Personally I think it looks great, what do you guys think ?

I thought the logo which was in black was a slight improvement, it was a rough job but looked like an improvement
