I'm all for a rolling lockout - I watch pretty much every single game, so why should the friday night lock and leave champions get the same playing field as the more dedicated.

Bring it on.

Don't like the VC loophole EVERY week though.

If you could have a rolling lockout, but eliminate the loophole i'd be happy.

Maybe Captain gets locked in on friday nights?

Because lots of us have commitments on the weekend, and in my case I'm not very time concious...not always aware when a game is starting while I'm busy with other things. One deadline is enough, multiple ones would be stressful

How does it work with opponents teams? Do you see their players as of lockout, or are the ones who haven't played blanked out?

I think it would be their team from the week before until the game with the new player is played then it would update

If you have a rolling lockout there is absolutely no need for a VC as you know prior to the game whether your C is a late wdl. Remove the VC and the loophole closes.

That also assumes that everyone will be waiting for changes to happen over the weekend. VC means that you've got some insurance if you can't be on the lookout for late changes before every match.

There's no skill with sitting around for final teams though. Would suck for someone to spend time during the week methodically researching their trades and statistics only to be outdone because someone had their finger on the trigger to make a split-second last trade.

I think it'll come eventually. Can only hope it won't be for a while.

What do they say "hard work beats skill, but when skill works hard it's unbeatable" - I.e you still have to put the work in to be the best.

If someone wants to put in more time than you they should be rewarded

Coming from a successful SC player who has made full use of it, rolling lockout and the constant loopholing it engenders (not just of captains, but of every emergency position) is a ****ing blight on the game. I turn it off in my Draft league, and if I wasn't gunning for overall rankings I'd want to do the same in Classic.

Exactly why I stopped playing SC.

I put in more than enough time before the season starts and during the weeks of each individual round, but come Friday (or the occasional Thursday) I like the sense of relief that everything I've planned is locked in and I can't do anything more about it. I like to have a free weekend to do whatever I want without my fantasy team falling behind those that are willing to spend their weekend checking the teams for each match to make sure they can make the most out of any change. Doing that doesn't require any skill, just dedication (which isn't a bad thing of course).

Having a full lockout is a fair system for everyone and something I hope doesn't change as I'd quickly lose interest in the game (unless they could remove all loopholes which I don't think is possible).

Just came to this. Simple and brilliant. Infact the best idea for DT/Fantasy ever.

Teams field their whole squad of 30 each week.
Only 22 players make up the team's weekly score - as happens currently.

**NO EMERGENCIES** Make it so none are able to be set at all.

Weekly score is made up of teams BEST scoring
6 Defenders
8 Midfielders
2 Rucks
6 Forwards

With the 2 lowest scores in each position counting for nothing. It's that simple.


Main effect:
Late outs and green vests become almost irrelevant as it won't impact a team's score unless they have more than 2 vested or out in 1 position - hardly ever happens. Let's face it, DT is not about vests and late outs and it's something we shouldn't even have to spend time considering! We have no control over it at all so it should NOT impact scoring like it currently does. Too much luck involved the way things are now. How does it make you feel that so many people with crap teams are ranked higher than you simply because of LUCK? Take a look at all of the sub-par teams at the top of the rankings. It's clear that most have had great LUCK avoiding late outs/ green vests and with their bench.

My friends, I've just seen the light and let me tell you we've been playing a bad format this whole time. It should have been this way right from the start.

What i'm proposing takes luck out of the equation completely and your team is scored by its true strength, making the game entirely about SKILL, as it should be.

The quicker Virtual Sports and FanHub adopt my idea the better.

I love this idea so much.

Id take it one step further and say just get rid of the captain altogether. I've never been a fan, especially because if I'm playing an opponent who has one of my players as captain, I end up hoping one of the players in my team does poorly (once my overall ambitions are shot down early in the season).
