I think Belechick has the chemistry right this year. Putting draft and trading focus on defence. In the past he's gone out to find new weapons for Brady. Brady has proved how little he needs to get the job done. Shore up the defence and start winning games 24-10 rather than 33-27. I like it.

At the start of the season I'd have had Atlanta down as a danger game, possibly a defeat but with their slow start and our performance, granted it was against the Bucs, I still think we should be looking to go and take over the dome. Be good to have as many wins on the board by the time we get the first choice receiving core all back on deck..

Our inexperience is going to bite us big time at some point in the season. Nearly cost us with Sudfeld today, next time we might not be so lucky.

But a very pleasing win nonetheless.

I expected/predicted to go 2-1 over this upcoming 3 game stretch with the Falcs as the hardest game.
The bengals looked pretty weak today and Gronk and Amendola should be back for the Saints, if not next week.
I seriously doubt we'd drop both and i'd say we're a good chance to win them both. If we split, the Dolphins are really the only game that will challenge us on paper to stop us going 8-1 into the bye.
Perfect start in many ways, the absence of receivers has really thrown the rookies into the fire, and with the exception of Sudfeld, they're growing quick.
Boyce only had one nice catch, but he looked ran some nice routes and would have good open for a huge gain if Brady had time on a play earlier. Unfortunate to see Dobson go down, but he's looked better post Jets. Kenbrell delivering on what many hoped he would. Even Velano and Buchanon stepped up after Wilfork and Chandler went down.
14 rookies playing today in week 4 is exceptional, we've recurited well since the 2010 draft and we're building a great team to have around Brady for the next 10 years

It’s going to be a lot. He took a risk going on a 1year deal, but he knew what he was doing.

In much much worse news, Wilfork has done his achilies and is most likely out for the year

Seymour is a FA and apparently wants to play

I mean Wilfork is basically irreplaceable at this point of the season.

Any huge DT's playing on teams that might be thinking rebuild and might be open to an in-season trade?

I really like Velano, but taking Wilfork's spot is way to big an ask.
I think Pyror will probably be back within a day or two, or hopefully they can sort out something with Seymour

Is Wilfork (apart from Brady) the one guy we can least afford to have go down?

He just changes the other teams offense and makes the other teams O line tougher and therefore likely puts more pressure on the secondary (more time for QB), more running threat; ...

4-0 kinda feels not so good. 3-1 with Wilfork fit would be better

Aquib is right now.
Wilfork hasn't been good so far this year, he was somehow strangely beaten by Ducasse. Still a huge loss, it's going to be hard to find a NT at this point. Wilfork doesn't naturally fit our system, it's his dominance that makes it work. If we want to plug in another 2 gapping 2 down NT, there is a few options worth looking at.
Pouha was still a good player last year before he got injured. Started 10 games, eventually injured and replaced by Kendrick Ellis
Shaun Cody. Did't even know he was cut, started 12 games for the Texans last year, but apparently would have to pass a medical with back issues. Antonio Garay is another un-retired FA, but he was backed up behind Pouha last year.

No way the Ravens would take just a first for Ngata, this isn't Madden.

Good post. Cheers.

After the Richardson trade who knows what one might get away with. But yes, a first from a team likely going 12-4 or better its hardly sufficient return.

Talib has been remarkable. I'd forgotten what a good CB in Patriots colours looked like.

Losing wilfork is really bad actually that's really really bad. We have been cursed with injuries lately its bloody frustrating. Run stopping and pass rush just got a lot worse. Yet another key player lost for a season. Ya can only overcome so much. Lets just hope we dont lose anybody else because we just can't afford to.
