Teams New England Patriots - The Pats

Extraordinary performance by Belichick to start Free Agency.
  1. Signs Jonnu Smith, our clear pass catching TE weapon and stout run blocker.
  2. Signs Nelson Algholor, our deep threat WR.
  3. Signs Kendrick Bourne, our intermediate slot WR.
  4. Signs Matt Judon, versatile LB with a disruptive pass rush and edge setting capabilities.
  5. Signs Davon Godchaux, space eating NT/DT.
  6. Signs Jalen Mills, versatile DB who can play S/CB hybrid role.
  7. Retains depth guys in Deatrich Wise and Carl Davis.
If this team gets even a mediocre season from Newton or the QB, they should be much improved.

All strategic signings and address positional needs - add that to the return of Trent Brown, we are far better placed entering 2021/2022 season. :whitecheck: :whitecheck: :whitecheck:

More importantly, complementary skills opposed to splashing for the sake of it. Smith, Agholor and Bourne all offer something unique, chemistry the next step.

Retaining Andrews becomes key and if so, with a 3rd placed schedule and depending on QB play, I won't be surprised to see Belichick's Super Bowl aspirations return.

Godchaux and Anderson are two low key great signings, both guys pretty underrated, far more than just your usual run stuffers on the dline. They can get pressure on opposing qbs.

Love Godchaux in particular, have had my eye on him for the last year or so, one of the most athletic NTs going round. Can make some plays not many can. Great motor too.

Is Van Noy still on the radar to return as well?

If he pulls his head in $$ expectation wise he would be welcome back.

That said I thought he had a pretty good season and I was super surprised when the Dolphins parted ways with him..... can only assume it was coin related and their assessment of attaining bang for buck.

Throw him in with: Hightower / Winovich / Judon and the line backer core starts having a seriously impactful disruptive edge to it.

Think another team may well pony up more attractive coin ..... however, Van Noy, ..... scorned with a chip on his shoulder would be good value to improving the Patriots in 2021.

B.B.

He ........ aint sleeping.

Looked at the TE position he thinks ............. we need help......... who do we go for ....... Jonnu Smith ...or ......... Hunter Henry ?????

Day 1. B.B. ................... Signs Smith.

B.B. went to bed.

Woke up and on day two thought ... Fu(k it ........ why not both. :)

Patriot Nation: :nflpatriots:

Hunter Henry is now a Patriot: ...............
a 3 year deal 37.5 million.

Been a good few days to be a Pats fan.

Sneeky me thinking ................... building the resources in free agency, so that we can trade this years draft capital and next years, to get a good young QB ...........to sit behind "The Made Hatter " for a year.

Can't adequately say how much I "LIKE" what we have done this free agency period.

Yeeeee Faaarrking Haaaa.

Actually maybe not, looks like quite a few of the signings don't have large cap hits in 2021.

We're structuring them it seems to rise in the 2nd-3rd years when the cap should rise again.
Also, the contract structures provide flexibility to acquire a QB via trade OR take advantage of the rookie QB contract years. Either way, New England has put itself in a strong intermediate strategic position.

VAN NOY! You beauty! Our front 7 is taking on a lethal look now.

Newton must be beside himself with the transition of this roster. Clearly we’ll be run heavy team again with a few extra tools for him to throw to... particularly at TE which he had a strong positional connection with circa 2015/16 with Olsen.

What a week for Pats Nation!

Van Noy

Front seven look like being a nasty proposition for the opposition.
Some physical linebackers in that list that play through the whistle.
Some seriously quick and impactful big hitters on that list.
Hightower will set the tone and the others will follow in the same vein.

Old time B.B. defensive grunt inacted once again.....the more things change the more they stay the same.

😆😁😄😃

We should prob look at Russell Wilson 2022 & beyond if Cam & the draft doesn’t measure up.....after all he does know how to throw to NE players.🙃
If we're going after an established QB then it should be Watson, a young reclamation project Darnold otherwise retain Newton, trade up in the draft and sell everything to obtain your target. Garoppolo showed promise in our system but he can't stay healthy long enough to justify a trade.
