Obviously we can't compete with the Collingwoods of the comp but we aren't settling for 15th best facilities in the comp either. Look at North and the Bulldogs. Reckon we will match up pretty well with them.

Will it have a 'specialist high tackle receiving centre?' for Beast Mode to work on his skills? fully equipped with Limbo bars, gladiator style gauntlets full of People attempting to cloths line you and head whip activators? or no.. not at this stage?

I hear he is asking for mandatory hair cuts for Bundy and Beast.
Real footballers have haircuts that you can set your watch to.

Great to hear. Hopefully we start seeing some more detail on what it will look like, what features it has etc etc. Agree the synthetic oval will be a massive one for us, allow training in all weather conditions without chopping up the other field. Hopefully we can rally enough support from govt and council to get this going quickly. Positive is that as soon as the money is there it will be underway given its on airport land. No pesky approvals to go through.

Each player will need to get issued with bulk supply of Aerogaurd-we get eaten alive by the mozzies at Mayne Juniors at Nundah.
Would be just our luck to have a mass outbreak of malaria or Ross River Fever.

Along with Le-"West Nile" Taylor and Josh "Greeny Yellow Fever" and recent addition Allen Chriskungunya.

To get the training facilities the Brisbane Lions deserve there is a lot of steps to be made.

Today's announcement is a massive step towards it and a positive one.

To even have a plan towards a training base is a big carrot when it comes to player retention.

Well done to the club today.

It's a long time coming. It's a national competition and we've spent too long resting on our threepeat. I understand that premierships don't come often, but we have to look into the future and not the past.

This is a big step for us coming one step forward from fifty steps back, but if we have guys like the Lambert's driving us with players like McStay and Andrews we are heading in the right direction

Could the announcement have been made to put pressure on the government to chip in or to get supporters to pressure the government?

After the Springfield debacle I think it just means that we're getting pretty close to a sealed deal.

Probably helps to start creating some buzz about it. But i think probably just a reflection that it is that close to being done that the club is now comfortable to actually put it on record as the location.
