You lot average only 41,000 spectators.
Apart from the Port games and finals (not all finals either) you have only hit 45,000 or more 6 or so times in the last 4 or so years.
If the no-shows are the issue then the SANFL/Crows should give people a chance to get their tickets by say Wednesday after that sell them to whoever buys them first.
Season-ticket/AAMI-membership should only give you first choice.

I agree with what Adelaide Crows9 said on the subject (below) and the majority of ‘no-shows’ would have a lot to do with the current day demand on a season ticket.

Take that 2 and ½ year waiting list way from the AFC and demand for a season ticket will not be so great, once that happens you will find the amount of season tickets sold and the amount of season ticketed member figure would be a lot closer than what they are now.

A season ticket re sale is going to be introduced for members next year (2007)

I agree we definitely need more seats however I think we only need another 10,000 - 15,000. If you get rid of the waiting list I think you would find that current members would drop off along with new members coming on board.

I recon close to 10,000 members would be holding on to their tickets just so they don't have to go back on a waiting list. No list then who cares if you give up your membership for a year or two. This also explains the no shows for us. The no shows have tickets for convenience so they can walk into the stadium a couple of times a year. No list then you don't need a membership.

Back to the topic - I have been going to AAMI since it was built and believe its Used by Date is close, especially when compared to the MCG and Telstra Dome. A new stadium in the city (on the train line) seems the logical option, however as other have said the SANFL seem to view AAMI as a trophy from the old SACA wars and reluctant to relocate.
The other issue I see is the Crows training on Max Basheer Reserve - I would have have thought that a more secure training venue was appropriate for an AFL club and am surprised a 'home base' is not on the agenda.

I like your sense of humour Portentous; I just wonder how long a comment like this regarding the Port Power would last on your board?[/QUOTE]

Not very long i would suggest bit precious over there small man syndrome it happens after being a big fish in small leauge to a small and new fish in huge leauge

Its an old antiquated stadium that is too small maybe if you went to Melbourne you would see how pathetic it is.

It is too small for the Adelaide Football Club, obviously it is fine for Port at the moment with their reduced crowd numbers, but there is more to the viability of AAMI stadium then whether or not it just suits Port's needs.

They either get rid of AAMI or expand it by another 20k seats.

Thats the only option. I am so sick of the SANFL holding onto the concrete jungle like it is some trophy that means something. Even the AFL had the smarts to know that Waverly was past it's use by date and discovered that the thinking in the 70s for stadiums doesnt really work in the modern day world.

repeating the same simplistic and flawed argument, doesn't make it true. :p

Here we go yet again
1. There is No Port Power
2. The Port Magpies see more of my $s each season than our AFL side do. I have "shafted" nobody.

You really are getting boring birdman.
Port Power board, this board is for discussion about the Adelaide Football Club.
