'New' indication on threads you've participated in

Hi Chief,

Occasionally, I'll wander into a thread I haven't been into for a while, and the page will not recall that I've been there. All posts in it will have the 'new' tag, and so I can't 'go to new' and just read the new material. Is this due to being away from the thread too long, or a bug?

I've attached a screenshot of a post I've liked that has the new tag.

Yeah it trims the records after a few months.
