Here is the latest interview with Clay Smith! It's epic!

Great to hear from the little champ .
I was at the VFL bombers game when he did his knee again.
He undersold his game that day.
He was dominating that game like I have never seen before at that level.
He was absolutely ferocious, had the Essendon players looking around for him .

Stood quite close to him at the 3/4 time huddle.
I remember feeling totally shattered for him as this tough fearless Bulldog , now on crutches again fought back the tears.

No one deserved 2016 more that him 👍

How did it happen in the VFL match?

Also, his description of why he came back on in 2015 now makes sense. There was a lot of anger directed at the club and doctors at the time.

It happened right near the boundary on the stand side.
Seemed innocuous, i think he was under little pressure and just tried to turn.

Listen at the half way mark to him talk about the 2016 Prelim, after his mate died during the week and how it all unfolded, resulting in his best ever game...

'The Club offered for me to not play and I said "no way...Dale would me to play."' Listen as Clay Smith reflects on whether he would play in the 2016 Prelim following the death of his great mate and the remarkable fortitude he displayed to deliver "the best game of my career".
