good match but meltzer has a hard on for japan

those who appreciate good wrestling have always had one.

lol the us shows are being headlined by

okada vs cody title match
tanahashi vs mr ass billy gun for the intercontinental title

**** me really in 2017 billy ******* gunn is going for a top championship

It's a weird one, but Gunn won't headline that night, the tournament finals will.

the ace never leaves japan. okada will never wrestle in wwe

Then why did Nakamura Left? He was 1 of the Top Dogs.

Has any Big Star ever left New Japan for American Promotion long term?

He was, but he wasn't the ace like Okada. The ace is the top of the pile company man who in many ways has the company on his shoulders, he's the biggest star and the face of the company, kinda like John Cena with the WWE through the last decade or so. It would be very surprising to see him leave, especially with how positive business is with the company at the moment. But never say never in wrestling.
Nakamura is 37 years old or something with he is body not the best, and he has done most things in New Japan, i think the opportunity to have a crack at WWE was a now or never thing, so he took the money.

nakamura wasnt the top star. in wwe terms nakamura is orton was picked as the next guy but failed then was always a big point in feuds etc but was number 2 behind tanahashi/cena. okada is basically roman reigns in this perspective

reckon Trent has the right idea. make the Bucks-Vice rematch a ladder match and have Gunn-Tana sandwiched between that and the US title final

In hindsight, NJPW perhaps did a poor job leaking information prior to the card announcement, as clearly some people thought they might get a PPV style card (Hell, some thought they might even get Okada-Omega). The card makes sense given the timing between a PPV and the G1, and the US shows are still better than all the Kizuna Road cards. One night is main evented with the 6 man titles ffs

I rate Orton Very Highly.

But still was a Big Player in NJPW and Big Get for WWE.

Yep, people worked themselves into a shoot over these shows a bit. They're important, but its still an expansion market, and anyone that's followed the product knows they are conservative as hell about burning money match ups, so it was never going to be too big when it was revealed it wasn't actually part of the G1. That said if you bought tickets and got the Billy Gunn title match you'd feel a bit dudded.

Why was Nakamaura a Fail as the Main Guy in NJPW?
