Yep. Just cancelled my NJPW world subscription. Will re-engage later in the year. Probably when the G1 tournament is on.

Thanks for the reminder— I forgot to do it after WK; I’ll do it now before March starts.

After NJPW events between March 1 and 15 were cancelled as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, and acting under the recommendations laid out by a specialist government taskforce meeting on Tuesday March 10, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the decision to cancel the five events remaining in the New Japan Cup tour between March 16 and 21.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to the remainder of the New Japan Cup. Ultimately, the health and safety of our fans, wrestlers and staff, as well as society at large is our utmost concern, and we will make announcements about events scheduled after March 22 upon careful monitoring of this developing situation.

That's a bummer :(

Although my mind immediately goes to PWA and MCW having events on 20 & 21 March... there might be an opportunity if any of the guys booked on the NJ Cup tour can get here without being quarantined/self isolating.

They cant 99 percent of the arenas in japan are owned by the government.

Thats why AEW and WWE can do no fan shows because they own daily's place and the PC
I'm just going off this quote from their website.

"NJPW is continuing to explore the possibility of presenting matches without fans in attendance if staff and wrestler health and safety can be protected to the highest possible standard."

I guess that provides opportunity for some of the Young Lions trainees or freelancers?

I'd be surprised if there isn't a bit of talent sharing, as Japanese companies are much more likely to try and help each other get back on their feet than North American companies. I could see Marafuji or Shiozaki from Noah, maybe Ishada from DG (though I'm far from an expert on DG) and maybe someone from All Japan all in the G1. Of course the other option they have is to shrink the numbers again.
