Yes, but he registered before they got rid of the option.
This correct.
And I wish the same still applied.
Not saying it's the case here as much as the main boards, but nominating a team seems to lead to "but your team' syndrome as a method of argument.
For example.
the statement
Richmond has made the finals as often as Fitzroy since 1982 is statistically correct. However, when posted by a non-Richmond supporter the line of defence seems to be determined by the team supported by the person making the statement.
To Carlton & Melbourne supporters, "yeah, we don't tank to get draft picks".
To StKilda supporters: "yeah a lot of good it did your mob".
To Essendon supporters: "yeah, only because you took one of ours as your coaches for the next 25 years".
I hate this line of defence, as it detracts from the argument put forward in the first place.
Not having a go at Richmond supporters or the Richmond club in general, just using this statistic as an example.
Another would be the
"Adelaide clash jumper looks like crap"
To Hawthorn supporters, "well, at least it's not poo and wee"
To West Coast: Yeah, it's very similar to yours"
To Essendon and Collingwood:"At least we have one, why do your teams hang on to outdated history?"
For the record, since I was 6 years old and Rosemary Fletcher, Ken's wife, Dustin's mum was my Grade 1 teacher, I have followed Essendon.
