Welcome to the megathread for all things new in AFL uniforms and related merchandise for 2017! This will be the place to post any news, confirmations and whispers about new apparel for AFL clubs for next season, and will run right throughout the off-season.

We're going back to having the confirmed changes in the OP this year, so as they roll in I'll keep this updated. Feel free to tag me to remind me if there is something I haven't got around to updating yet.

Please lets keep discussion to actual confirmations, legitimate news items and credible leaks only. Remember that your any of your own design ideas don't belong in this thread, but are to go in here.

If you do come across some information, please make sure to post your sources with any confirmed releases, and clearly state any rumours or leaks.

Cheers, and enjoy!

I hope the mods don't mind me going super early on this thread (and stealing Gibbsy's Thread of the Year award ;)), but as with all things AFL we're getting more and more information earlier in the year. I didn't want anything to get lost in the game day threads.

Hawthorn have a new clash jumper, with the new monogram based design coming from Cody_'s mortal enemy from the team's design competition.

Matt Finnis, CEO of St Kilda, tweeted that St Kilda will be ditching the GOAT clash jumper in favour of something new. Speculation on this board at the time seemed to lean towards a crusader cross/shield style design, given we wore a throwback to the crusader in round 2 and a jumper based on the club logo during the pre-season.

There's a lot of speculation that North Melbourne will also have a new clash jumper, potentially a return to the bounding roo. Who knows what will happen with the home jumper, whether they'll do a Collingwood and wear the blue based jumper full time.

There's also been talk about West Coast ditching the oddly nicknamed "table cloth". I can't remember if that's a guarantee or not, though.

Essendon have signed with ISC from next year. Gibbsy's sponsor contract thread has Melbourne's New Balance and Western Bulldogs' BLK contracts running out at the end of this season, so maybe we'll see a change at one of these clubs as well?

And now the reason why I started this thread so early, Langers89, who I believe is a club representative for Brisbane, posted this on the Brisbane board earlier today:

This is probably the most mocked up jumper in the history of FJGD, and its great to see the club listen to not only its fans, but the clear experts here.

We have official confirmation Essendon will be ISC in 2017?

In a seven-year deal that will help turn the tide at the troubled club, apparel giant ISC will replace adidas in a sponsorship worth $1 million a season.
I don't think Essendon have said anything yet (they probably can't until the Adidas deal has ended) but I don't see why the Hun would make that up.

Edit: Essendon have confirmed a long term deal with an apparel sponsor that isn't Adidas, but haven't confirmed that it's ISC

My money's on that Brisbane jumper being a training jumper, or the front page of Justin Leppitch's coaching eulogy
Posted in a clash jumper thread so probably unlikely, but I can imagine a Leppitsch effigy in one.

There's a couple of things I've noticed from the photo; new BLK collar which is a long time coming. Looks like it could be similar to Nike's really good early 00's one. Maroon side panels (like the printed ones on the current clash?) and V shaped yolk rather than flat are both disappointing, though.

Edit 2: actually I don't mind the V, but would prefer continuity with flat yolks on all of their jumpers. Side panels can still piss off though.

I was looking for a "new jumpers for 2017" thread this morning, and now here it is!!! Anyway, I posted this in the round 21 jumpers discussion, but thought it should go in the new jumpers one, mainly because I think these will be used for 2017. Just guessing of course.

So Puma have changed their GPS pouch. Not sure why they'd do it mid season, even later than mid season. I've been looking through the most recent AFL photos for some pics of players wearing the new style, but so far, it's been hard to tell. I've definitely seen the old (start of 2016) style, but yet to spot the new ones.

EARLY 2016 MID-LATE 2016 POSSIBLY 2017??

Personally, I prefer the old style, only because it's a bit easier to tell it's a player issue when looking at it, and also this new style, looks a little cheap. They've also lost the yellow strip under the collar, which was quite thick. I wonder if the players requested any of the changes?? Maybe the stitching from the GPS pouch was annoying?? Who knows, but only guernsey nerds like all of us would notice this sort of stuff, or care about it:D:D

Could Brisbane do what Hawthorn did a couple of years ago and wear it in round 23 as a preview for next year? Would be a good contrast against the Saints.

Just seems really early to get such a preview of a 2017 jumper.

Might be a little embarrassing as well, remember a few people claiming that its a first that a major sport organisation done for drugs had maintained their sponsorship with a major manufacturer like Nike or Adidas, then less than a month later this article came out.

Again, sorry for starting the thread early but I just think there's too much information floating around too many places at the moment. Pls don't lock.
It looks like the Classic rugby collar.

Oh god no. The ISC collar works for teams who have the same colour collar as the top of their jumper but is horrible outside of that (ie. Geelong). BLK's current collar is much better, especially those teams who have different colours between collar and jumper (ie. Adelaide).

That's still just rumour at this stage though, isn't it?
*Bump*

Strong rumour* - we've signed with ISC for next year and we are ditching Star because the company didn't make enough random Star Athletic apparel, which we were supposed to get a large cut of.

* when I say strong, I say locked in.

Source = someone in the industry.
Also Star cut the Melbourne Storm deal and they are also set to sign with ISC for next season.

Check the thread on the Pies board. All of my "predictions"* have come true.

*It's hard to call them predictions when you know the answer.
