It's why I'm happy for Port to only wear the Bars say once a year in Showdowns - gives me something to look forward to. If I wanted to see the Bars every week, I only have to open the other side of my wardrobe and there's two sets hanging up (2014 and 2023).
Someone's never watched the SANFL...

Re the GC indigenous away jumper, I'm a bit conflicted. I like the idea of confining the indigenous jumpers to a single round (as per any other themed rounds) on the one hand, but also like the idea of celebrating indigenous art and culture (& the indigenous connection to footy) as often as possible. The GC away jumper looks good, and will serve as an effective (non-clashy) one for most matches. So I'm on board with it, and perhaps we'll see a different design (or say a blue or yellow version) for the indigenous round.
Surely our indigenous culture has been confined( suppressed, ignored controlled) for long enough.
It should just be the norm.
As Australians it is the history of the land we stand on.
The guernseys are fantastic

I’d going to play devil’s advocate here regarding Indigenous jumpers, and bear in mind I’m someone who loves the concept. However I’m not entirely opposed to the idea of scrapping a league wide Indigenous round and just letting every club choose when they would like to wear it as well as however many times they would like to.
Admittedly this suggestion would make more sense if they hadn’t given every team a home game across both Indigenous rounds, but there is still some merit to the idea. Every club gets to brand their match day event around being the club’s celebration of Indigenous culture but the main positive of this idea is that we don’t have 18 clubs releasing their design around the same time and every release would get some clearer air to be seen by more of the footy public.
I have suggested this regarding heritage jumpers in favour of a league-wide round so this idea isn’t because I don’t like having Indigenous Round or anything ridiculous like that. I don’t know if this is a better idea then the two Indigenous rounds we currently have but it’s an idea nonetheless. When I do think about it, perhaps the league-wide rounds go a decent way to normalising Indigenous culture to non-Indigenous people (not sure the best phrasing for what I’m trying to say here so please understand what I’m aiming for lol)

Heardy laughing at all the posts detailing the plight of indigenous people is pretty telling.
People getting offended by a stranger's opinion on the internet is pretty telling... and hilarious.

I only ever liked the bird uniforms, like what West Coast, The Crows, and Port Adelaide wore during those rounds. I thought it made Port's home uniform look better, this year.

If it was a Magpie instead of an Eagle would make more sense for Port. Collingwood can go get effed. They've got 'their' stripes. They can't complain about everything Port does in regard to their heritage.

 On this board?
well people are passionate, you’ve got two camps, one who are die hard traditionalists who want to protect the strip at all costs for fear of it being lost and the other that want to put aboriginal art, pride and Ukraine flags all over it to try appease every little minority. I think we’ve found a happy medium at the moment that appeals for everyone. At the end of the day I think something that we can all agree on is we love the footy for an escape, it’s good just to throw on a game and zone out with out having something signalled in your face or reminding you what’s wrong with the world. But anyway let’s get back to the kits hey, Sir Izak is back in the new O’Neills training guernsey, new era cap and changed to 23. Book the tickets

I just hope they design a proper appealing guernsey, unlike those awful Gold Coast and GWS uniforms and logos.

Real people type real things they think and people react to them. It's how society works. Just because you communicated them with a keyboard doesn't make them free from negative reaction.
