SOS stated categorically on Footy Classified (in the presence of panel member C Judd) he did not report to the board, he reported to the Football Manager (then A McKay). He also stated he did not sit on MC meetings.
So does this mean you agree with me that there is no way the next appointee will be allowed to operated independently of Lloyd and Liddle?

Apparently this is a controversial statement. I assumed it was somewhat obvious.

I wonder what the chances would be that even if SOS told a straight-up porky on FC, whether Judd would be crazy enough to "correct" him out on live TV and derail his argument with Caro?

My sentiments exactly. They tell lies, plain and simple. They are disbanding the old maffia and creating a new one. (Rinse and repeat) And by lies, I mean they talk about culture, unity, bound by blue. All words that no one lives by IMO. There is nothing unified about our club, never has been, never will be (sadly).
Now, where's that clip I put in here a few days ago?

Ah, there it is.

Everything was bad because of interference and the lack of parameters and as far as we say we've advanced, we still have the same issues.
How does this come about? Who allows it to come about?

Judds portfolio is Football and List Management - What did he do to stem the situation? Did he do anything at all?
MLG is the President and a very good friend of Silvagnis - He knew what was going on and would have heard both sides of the story, although he may have leaned towards one side more than another.
Which wise individual signed-off on the press release stating that the Silvagni boys were at 'central' to the demise of SOS?
Remind me again why we're entitled to know all of that.

And please don't give me the shareholders = members argument. Shareholders aren't given all the details, either.

What? I said nothing about entitlement.
They're simply questions posed by the poster for the sake of discussion.

What on earth are you going on about? :)

... all of which are questions you are asking of the club. If you are not, why are you asking them? Do you have a reasonable or unreasonable expectation that Doro knows the answer to any or all of them? Do you not actually want the answers to them?

Why ask a question if you do not want to know the answer?

This is what I mean by entitlement. You are asking questions to which you believe you are entitled to the answer; that you are not, that the club can essentially say (much more politely than I would) piss off to each one. So that prompts the question, which I asked in my original post: why are you entitled to the answers to each question?

I ask questions. You'll see a lot of questions I pose.
I don't expect the club to come running to the board to answer them.
Questions are there to instigate discussion. You do understand this without going personal Gethelred ?

This is not an agenda. This is not a witch-hunt. Repeat: This is not..... :)

Have I gone personal? I'd be interested in seeing precisely where.

If the questions are there to instigate discussion, that then prompts the questions; to what are you driving, and could you get there without leaving clues on a treasure map?

See. This is exactly how we continually go off topic and get into areas that bore most people.

I do things my way and will continue to do so, with or without being grilled about asking questions. It really shouldn't matter.

I'll pipe down for now, on the basis of respecting your desire to avoid a tangent.

However...

It definitely matters how you express yourself. Always has, and always does; and it especially matters on a forum like this where words are all we have to go on from another poster. Posting obliquely and disguising your meaning behind the 'just asking a question' is dubious, and I'd think you were a better poster than that if you didn't continuously do it.

Don't worry about respect. Means little in the end.

I did say it's a manner in which I communicate and what goes through my head when positing.
I don't spend time formulating words - just what coms to mind in the moment.

I can see us heading into the next recruitment period with no new addition and just handling it with the people we have.

Perhaps Lloyd has to step up and manage the player contracts and recruitment of senior players. Shouldn't be hard as we should be a destination club and a lot of the groundwork has been done by Silvagni anyway so someone just needs to follow up with that. Particularly with someone like Papley.

Recruitment wise I think Agresta and Brodie can probably head that for one season. They might not have the tact that SOS has but you would like to think they can recruit the right players with whatever picks we have.

Then we go into the period after that where we were expecting Silvagni to depart anyway. Get through one recruitment period with who we have and make sure we have the right person on hand.

I kind of hope we go this way and chase someone really good who will do the 2021 recruiting than just settle for someone so we have someone for the 2020 recruitment period. It's not ideal but we have put ourselves in this position and now we have to work through it.

A love song?

So can I, but I'd see it as an admission of failure. I'd rather we correctly identify the next great list manager and get on with it ASAP.

I guess by December 2020 we'll have found out how wise the administration has been.

I think we definitely do. I think the issue is because of the timing of this, that candidates may not be available as you would think most have already committed to their role wherever they are. Not saying someone good might change their mind and commit to us but ideally you would like to be looking for a list and strategy manager during the 2020 season so they can come straight in after that draft and begin then.

Silvagni had some high credentials that will take some beating. Maybe we can squeeze someone out from somewhere else.

I think this is already a failure. Silvagni was planned to see out next season and depart then. That should have set us up for a smooth transition. Liddle, MLG and Lloyd are going to have to work their arses off one way or another to get us through this. Pressure is on them now to either step in for a year and fill the management and strategy side of things or to find someone really good really quickly.

So we can blow this myth out of the water, it’s in black n white

— Liddle said his meeting with then-free agent Brandon Ellis, who he knew from his days at the Calder Cannons and Richmond, was widely known by Silvagni and the list management team, adding: “ … it was agreed that we would leverage that relationship in our discussions with Brandon.”

lol, he also said the Club is united. I suppose you’re going to believe that too? 🤣

From a distance it all looks a bit absurd and not convinced we have much reflection or critical thinking going on at senior leader level....we had a list committee with no dedicated list manager, wrong model, didn't work....employ a (strong) dedicated list manager, embrace the draft.....works. Remove list manager's power and make decisions via a list management committee.

WTF

Outside of one person, yeah....

But but, Liddle went behind SOSs back and had Ellis tour the club without his knowledge 🤣

So that leaves 2 situations:

Eddie - not many been arguing against that one [emoji23]

Deluca - majority of the people here did not want another kid. Bolton was fighting for his career, club was in dire straights. If Marlion Pickett wasn’t out for 6+ weeks probably would have been him. The point is, a kid was not going to help us

Neither was Deluca.
