Rumour New Logo?

This just popped up on my Twitter Feed


And after some investigation found that is has been registered my the AFL on ATMOSS (Australian Trade Mark On-line Search System) so it begs the Question could this be the new logo of the Melbourne Football Club:


Anyway best of luck for Sunday (But not to much )

Isn't that the design used on away jumpers this year? Would make sense that they'd get around to trademarking it.

There was some market research conducted by the club around branding last year, and a new logo was definitely in the works. Whether it goes ahead is another thing, but it was being researched.

^ I liked the current logo at first but it reminds me of Schwab too now so flush it. PJ said they were considering changes to the clubs branding in off season I think.

I actually like the current logo even if it is schwab related and tied to our bad years.

Not sure this logo would appeal to new supporters, cries the old melbourne stereotype if you ask me. To be honest i'd really like to see the demon comeback again

Boring. Step backwards imo.

Previous administration got a lot of things wrong but the 'emblem' was not one of them. Reeks of a new government coming in and undoing all the work the previous regime did even if some of the work was effective/ beneficial

I'm with stabler here... That is very plain and I don't think the current emblem is too bad. Sure it's a bit busy but it's interesting on the eye at least. By all means use this potential new one somewhere but let's not ditch the current one completely just for the sake of it.

After the research Peter Jackson said the club was looking back at its history too much and wasn't using its demon moniker as much anymore, said they are researching for a new logo involving a Demon. This is not our new logo.

This isn't correct, there wasn't much Demon inspiration going.
