New Major Sponsor - Zurich Insurance, 3 year deal

I'm hopefully that the Richmond Clash hoo-haa in the lead up to the GF has made clubs realise that your ridiculous cash grab white monstrosity could be immortalised forever as a premiership guernsey.

I had a feeling last year when they released that white bintang piece of crap under zero fan fare that it would be temporary before something much, much better. Now they just need to leave it be from here on out.
Bin tang! Classic!

Feeling pretty neutral about this.

I feel like i've posted this video enough that this picture still does the job.

Read this as "finally a decent cash dumpster". Either way I concur. May they have better luck than the last German speaking company launching in Australia with help from the MFC
Zurich have been here a while...

I'm glad the club can see past the silliness of disregarding a perfectly good clash jumper just because of the way we played wearing it 40 years ago.

The new strip looks great and I'm glad we will look like we're wearing a Melbourne Football Club jumper in every game this year.

Haha, http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-01-22/melbourne-welcomes-zurich

"Zurich was first founded in Switzerland in 1872 and has operated in Australia since 1920."

Reasonably confident this sponsorship won't bury them!
Global sponsors too. Other sports (some may be past):

- Golf tournaments
- Golf players - they sponsor Jason Day
- Olympic teams
- Ice hockey in Switzerland
- Wexford Wanderers, Irish soccer

They're pretty big in the global sponsor market by the looks of it.

Were a motorcycle racing team sponsor over here twenty odd years ago as well.

If we're talking Japanese its Lexus or Infiniti. Can't see Infiniti sponsoring an AFL club though and Toyota is the AFL sponsor so Lexus would be logical.

Close, yet so far...

Just wait for them to shut up shop here in 2 years ala Opel. Sold a whole ~800 cars last year.

Nice job. But gee I'm not a fan of all-caps brand names.

Reminds me of the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS.
The Gold Coast SUNS is even more bizarre. At least GIANT letters look GIANT.
