I'm not exactly happy either.
I have to get ANOTHER Kyle Reimers jumper now

Lonergan has said he's keeping 36.
Please Reimers, keep 37, so that my new jumper isn't obsolete after one year.
Cousins --> 9
1st round --> 11
Hocking/Hislop --> 14
2nd round --> 32
Leaving 21, 22, 35/39 free.

I'd like to see him sign a deal, but he wouldn't be the biggest loss in the world.I think Hislop will be put up for trade. Sydney are interested by reports. We better keep him.
That would be the biggest insult to the #9 guernsey.
If he does come to Windy Hill,hopefully that isnt his number.
I agree,
Kyle should keep the 37..make it his own.
(Along with the others!) ...but we'll soon find out![]()
Steele Sidebottom is an Essendon supporter who wore #9 at his home club of Congupna![]()
he said he wants to be the first player @ Essendon to play 100 in #36i reckon lonergan should get the 9
hopefully 33 is free too
How so?
Cousins is an elite (by AFL standards) footballer, and one of the most meticulous trainers in the game.
If you ignore the fact that Cousins' stupidity caused his downfall, there are even comparisons between Rama and Cousins.
Both were fantastic footballers, who were struck down by off-field health issues. Another comeback in the number 9 at Essendon would be very nice.
Not to mention the fact that Cuz wore 9 at West Coast.
It would be an insult because Rama was an inspiration. He was an excellent role model and showed that despite uncontrollable adversity, success is still possible.
Cousins, although a good footballer, is hardly an inspiration, or a role model. He is an addict who was consistently in strife due to his off field behaviour.
Hardly comparable IMO.
11 to Hocking, a lot of Peverill in Hocking. Both of the rookie list. Both labouring mids with a great fierce attitude to their training. Seems a logical fit...
You oversell Rama, and undersell Cousins.
I was perhaps drawing a long bow with the comparison (just food for thought), but to say that giving Cousins Rama's number would be an insult is absurd.
I disagree, it isn't absurd. I wasn't talking about their football ability. Cousins was obviously a star on the field, no argument from me there. He was also a clown off it, which would not do justice to Rama's bravery.
But to give Cousins number 9 isn't an insult.
Should we retire the jumper until (God forbid) another player recovers from cancer?
If Cousins comes here, he will be the best player who arrives.
He wore number 9 at West Coast.
Makes perfect sense - it isn't an insult.
