Hopefully Thursday morning on our website. Had to wait for rookie draft selections to check their jumper sizes so with a bit of luck that will be all sorted.

What were they doing while training with the club? They should have been sizing their jumpers up then!! ;)

Seriously though thanks kindly for the information, it's always appreciated :thumbsu:

Thanks AFCCOMAU.....true to your word. Reilly taking 3 is interesting...hopefully it doesn't make him half the player he was!!!!

I like McKernan with 35...it gives him his own identity and not the same as his brother with 31.

Well done on all who predicted Dangerfield with 32. That gives him a huge incentive to play like a legend and also to stay at the crows.

Dangerfield had already been made #32.

Reilly probably was due for a number change, just for a change of luck!

Here's the new numbers (including Dangerfield and Cook):

3: Brent Reilly
8: Myke Cook
16: Phil Davis
30: Tom Lee
31: Rory Sloane
32: Patrick Dangerfield
33: Jared Petrenko
35: Shaun McKernan
39: Will Young
42: Brian Donnelly (rookie)
45: Ricky Henderson (rookie)
46: Chris Schmidt (rookie)

Note that Petrenko swapped in 42 for 33. I really liked him in 42 but never mind :) The cursed #31 for Sloane  Hopefully he can make it his!

Why does a senior player who has had an orriginal number, have to change their number?
Like Vince last year changed his to 17 from 28 and then Reilly changed his to 3?
And Petrenko changed his number :( 42 suited the fella.

Change of number for Rielly may be good, see if it shakes the injuries lol.

Although i'm a fan of the number 33 as it's my basketball number.

In the case of Dangermouse it's because the club decided to retire his #19, giving it to the crowd in one of the dumbest marketing-driven decisions in recent AFL history. Worst idea since Footscray & North Melbourne decided to change their names. But I digress...

Dangermouse lost his because the club retired his number. All the others changed numbers because they wanted to.

Some players just prefer a different number. When they arrive at a club they can only chose from the available numbers at that time. In Radars case, he may have always wanted 3 but had to wait til it was vacated.

Did I miss something?

When did Radar play for Carlton?

no.3 is a great number, if Reilly didn't take it, Davis would've. either is fine with me, but since Reilly's been there longer, he deserves it more.

I'm so glad I've already bought a new guernsey since Radar used to be my favourite player and I had a guernsey 33 for the 08 season (I think I may have jinxed him since I got it for Xmas last year, and then he only played 8 games ) but now I've moved on to Symesy since he's a lot nicer person, plus I needed a new favourite player for all the games Radar missed!
I'm surprised Tippett didn't ask for 33, because Tippett has said that he wanted number 33 when he came over to the Crows, but Radar already had it.

Vince changed to 17 because that's his number at Woodville West Torrens so it may also have been his number when he was a junior..? It is annoying when players change - especially a senior like Reilly who's been playing for years and some people might have their number on their guernsey.

I like Symesy and all but I assume form this comment that you feel Radar isn't as nice a person? :o

No, Radar IS a nice person - I just feel that Symesy is nicer and he's a lot easier to approach and I can actually have a conversation with him, whereas when I've tried to have conversations with Radar I barely get 2 words out of him (which disappointed me since he was my favourite player). I was saying that to my mum at training once and this girl in front of me turned around and agreed and said he seemed like he was a bit of a "snob". But they're just my interactions with him, so yours might be different..and better? :o. Although the other day he was shown on the news at a Variety lunch (at least I think it was Variety..), with the Cornes brothers, interacting with the little kids, which was great to see :thumbsu:.

He just prefers to keep to himself I guess. He's always been like that, wouldn't say he's a snob...
