Yes you heard me. I was just reading an article on eye of the tiger and it said the following:
Outspoken Brisbane Lions star Jason Akermanis was a Richmond supporter as a kid – and he’s still a rap for the Tigers in 2004 . . .
Akermanis told the Triple M football commentary team last Saturday that he wasn’t the least bit surprised by Richmond’s decisive 40-point opening round victory over the other Grand Final team of the past couple of years, Collingwood.
“Their (the Tigers’) list for what it’s worth, is pretty good and full of some really talented players,” Akermanis said.
The 2001 Brownlow Medallist had been particularly impressed with Richmond’s performance in the practice match against Brisbane at Coorparoo in early March, and he believes the boys from Punt Road are capable of mounting a strong challenge in ’04.
Thoughts?
