We will be using the Hawks as a warm for the finals. Hawks will be fighting for the 8. We will be getting some good hard finals practice as we waltz in to the finals on our way to another flag.

Hawks would not fall that far next year

Me too but last time we play them in the last round was 2010;)
I pretend 2014 never happened too Dave ;)

Seriously though, is it just me or have we drawn the Dogs and the Hawks a lot in the last round in the last fifteen years? By my count it's three times each (Dogs '02. 05, 09), (Hawks '10, '14, '16)?

I'm not 100% on the Dog years.

What about the Swans? Their hierarchy and fans hate us for speaking up against the inequality of COLA and its various guises. We hate them for fighting to retain their ridiculous concessions. The irony is, of the Melbourne based teams we once had the most in common with the Bloods. Their working class roots entrenched among the tanneries of South Melbourne, ours among the abattoirs of Collingwood. We still connect with our roots. They're now lifeless, golf clapping toffs from harbour side. I wonder what a South Melbourne fan from the turn of the 20th century would make of their club these days?

Just multiply by 7.

OK here's one.

TradeDraft and TheBrownDog - It's neck and neck at the moment. Now TBD has had an award named after him for reaching 50,000 posts. Trade draft carries around this award day in and day out as a badge of honour. Now I propose that if Tradedraft reaches 75,000 posts before TBD he has an award named after him and then TBD can carry TD's name around with him once he hits 75K for all of his BF career.

I think TD has it in him

There are 2 ahead of us that have just over 80k and other has 91k

Have to agree Carlton are still the number 1 for me.
I will add though on a personal level I have so many Essendon people in my life who really annoy me. My friends who barrack for Carlton are actually good people, shocking i know.

So while watching the games i still hate Carlton the most but when considering the aftermath of a loss, Essendon are the bigger worry. Hopefully we won't have to worry about that for a while

I'm with you on this. Bombers fans have always been the worst for me. But they are closely followed these days by Hawks fans. Its not much fun watching us play them in the MCC members, with the Members Stand literally teaming with ex-private school boys from Boroondara. Bumping into not a few of these guys in my professional life, it turns out that they all started barracking for the Hawks in the 1980s and 1990s, while at school, and now they feel entitled to premierships. And I cant say I blame them. A super successful club will do that to you.:(

That's interesting VP, in my circle the hawk fans are pretty good yet at the games i find their fans to be some of the worst
