Assisted somewhat by 7 of the 9 finals being played north of Melbourne, this year's finals series was the highest-scoring since 2017, ranking 70th overall from 125 finals series and 45th in the last 50 years.
The season overall ranked 73rd of 125 and was the lowest-scoring since 1967, shortened 2020 quarters aside.
Maybe with a few more rule innovations they can get it moving in the right direction in 2022...
