I don't know you so I can't judge that at all but I unlike you am not resorting to cheap shots here right now. which makes me the better person

I couldn't care less if you're a member or not to be honest

We're all one and same in that WE ALL SUPPORT FREO

But, at the end of the day, it comes down to a members decision.

Not yours.

You are definitely entitled to your opinion. However your continued bias against things that you have not financially contributed to pisses off a lot of people.

And I respectfully suggest that you read my post a little more carefully PB !
At no stage did I state that I was "frightened of new directions". The people at Dickerland kept deleting my posts last year each time I supported the new strip/logo.
My argument on this topic was that "squeaky clean" is not always the perfect way of promoting our club. My view on the TNT sound with Freo lyrics is contrary to what you're saying. The one certainty with that option is that it is a ballcrunching sound that nearly every Aussie knows and in some way equates with a tough attitude. The new lyrics could be fairly simple - no one would really care that much when there is such a ballsy accompaniment.
As for the copyright issues, I think it would be worth some major cost to ensure we are not saddled with a half-arsed song like the current options presented and I seriously believe that the TNT option should've been on the ballot too.

Well, maybe, you should have lobbied the club harder with your proposal?

You're stuck with 4 options now though.

Personally, I have one option.

I want to see a flag.

Nothing more and nothing less.

And if I have to sing a Justin Beiber song in the interim, then I will do it.

I understand that perfectly.

Continued bias? What are you talking about?

I assume that financially contributed to refers to the club here but if you're suggesting I'm biased against Fremantle, correct me if I'm wrong but that basically is suggesting that I'm a troll masquerading as a supporter.

Of course I'd like clarification on this so I know how to respond :)

He's referring to your bias towards keeping the song when you're not a member and don't have a say in the outcome of the poll. Nothing to do with being biased against Fremantle or trolling.

So expressing a view (isn't that what we're all here for) that I wish the song to stay is now biased????

Geez, we live in a very strange world indeed

How's this though

I know very well I don't get a say and I accept that

Unfortunately I support a team that may very well adopt a new song which is being decided by the members (surprised democracy exists at the FFC considering the way things have been done over the past 18 months).

All song options besides the original (in my view) are utter shite and the members could force on me a song that I dislike. Yes I'm aware that if I was a member, I could actually have a say but my vote wouldn't make a jot of difference whatsoever when there's potentially 25,000 members voting.

I stick to my view not only because of sentimental reasons but because I truly believe that the original is the best option of the 4 and whether I have a vote or not, nothing will change my view at all.

I assume the bias claim arises from you proclaiming that the original song should win while stating you hadn't actually listened to the options. I understand since then you have, but that's my theory on the matter.

I have finally worked out what the Rosco one reminds me of...

The Eskimoes one is definitely growing on me.

Still think the fact the the flipping embarrassing "rollers and rockers" line was not removed from the rework is, well, flipping embarrassing...

Maybe it could be changed to give it a Quadrophenia vibe:

We're not Mods and we're not Rockers
We're the the mighty Freo Dockers...etc.

Just a thought.

Quite possibly that could be the caseand I'll admit it wasn't the smartest thing I've ever said but to then accuse of bias AFTER I've listened to the options, well, that's what's got me thoroughly baffled.

Would the EJ version sound as good?

TBH the EJ version is a bit mickey mouse clubhouse-esque.
I think the EJ version would sound better. A group of blokes yelling removes the 'mickey mouse clubhouse-esque' feeling. Listen to most official recordings of other team songs - they all have that to an extent until you have a group of blokes yelling it.

The Rosco one didn't really improve for me with the locker room version. Sure it took that lame edge off it, but it's just a really awkward song in my opinion.

Agreed. Just like the locker room version improved Rosco's, the EJ song would sound better belted out by footballers - combine that with it sounding better recorded and you have a winner.

I thought the locker room version of Rosco's sounded pretty bad until they hit the chorus - it's as awkward to sing as the original was to listen to.

I LOVE the Rosco one and this club room version only confirms it. It really is the type of song used in propaganda videos. Really stirs up patriotic emotions you want from a theme song. Is more aggressive than the EJ song IMO and reckon it'll be popular with kids and adults.

At the end of the day the original will stay, which honestly I think is a perfectly fine song and is unfairly criticized. The only real problem I find with it is the "rollers rockers" part, makes no sense. But the rest is great.
