It's a fair question Reg.

However, I am a realist.

I judge facts upon their current circumstances. The revisionist theory is just that: revisionism.

However, it makes a decent base to make a comparison upon.

And, as such, I feel quite confident about our future.

I am happy with our current financial situation, Confident in our forward projections in regards to infrastructure requirements and football department projections.

But yes. We could, and hopefully will, do better in our drafting and coaching. Current opinion says that RL's appointment is a positive indicator in that regard.

See Reg. This is where you miss the point.

It's not a purely a game anymore.

It's a business.

And fossils like you will be seen rolling down South Beach like the tumbleweeds that you are.

So that's a long-winded way of avoiding the question.

Fossils don't roll, by the way, and there isn't any record of a fossilised tumbleweed.

Still looking, btw. This is as close as I've got so far, but its not a direct link of jumper to performance, merely an inference, so I'm guessing an anal retentive like you wouldn't accept it as proof:

Dont worry you will get over it.
In 2 years time when they run around the mcg with the cup held high
you wont remember what the anchor jumper looked like.

How could anyone accept that as proof?

If you complained to me that you didn't like your wife's new hairstyle, and I commented that you wouldn't care what her hair looked like while she was going down on you, would you take that as proof that I thought her new hairstyle was going to magically cause her to give you head?

I'm not really sure where that came from, but can you give me the phone number of the hairdresser?

Haha.

I thought it was an apt analogy since for married men blowjobs come around about as often as Freo premierships (so I'm led to believe).

It's a myth, brother. ;) I find it quite the opposite, longer we're married, more I get. As long as we don't have to have sex after  [sort of "to get me of her back" strategy]

My humble opinion.

Joes > New Heave Ho > Mighty Roar > Old Heave Ho

The Eskimo Joe song is a quality anthem, although I can see the reworked Heave Ho getting up for the change averse.

Those are some good songs .

I can't believe you think the Eskimo Joe song is anything good, jesus that is bad. The New Heave Ho song isn't actually that bad, now that ****ing thing is stuck in my head .

New songs are a charade. dont like any changes. Hated the new jumper and logo and anything other than keeping the current song is the death of the club for me.

My vote goes, song 4, then 3, 2 and 1.

Be good to see these rebranding threads cease and start just watching footy, not having goes at each other about who likes what and how it was done.

Amen to the above. All this is doing is dividing supporters

Pretty much my feelings too. I hated the jumper and logo changes but there's not much you can do about it when management has already made up their mind on a decision like that. They have the power to do what they want.

But this song change on the other hand they're putting to the members. And I've said it before but if it turns out that the majority of Freo supporters aren't on the same page with me about this, then I'm done.

Emotional? Definitely. But that's just how I am about my football and it won't sit right with me to cheer along with any random Docker supporter at a game because I'd always know that there'd be a good chance they were responsible for changing something that I used to like, for the worse.

I know myself and I personally find those two new song choices to be so, so awful that I could never truly enjoy a win again. And if the Dockers membership chooses either of them then I'll know that I don't belong there.

Now it's not so bad for me since I only support Fremantle on the side, but I thought that I would post in here just to show my support for anyone who might feel the same way about this. And I for one would welcome any ex Freo supporter over to the WCE if things do end up going the way that the current results of this forum poll suggest they might.

So cheers and good luck!

Ahhh a freagle gives us his two cents worth.

Mind that door...

Yet to me, he appears to make more sense than all those Freo supporters who seem content in throwing away our heritage.

The sad thing is, is that we are all Freo supporters and all we
are doing is having a go at each other.

Anyone would think that there is blood on the floor the way some of you carry on about this stuff tearing apart the supporter base and the club itself.

The truth is that there is a bit of robust debate and some strutting going on. But, in reality, the vast majority of us couldn't give a stuff about cosmetic changes and just want to win a flag.

For any supporter to say that they are done with a club because of some changes to uniforms and songs, says volumes about their loyalty in the first place.

I totally agree with your comment in bold above. There is no way that I would not renew my family membership.

What I find difficult to comprehend is the loyalty of those who are prepared to let our heritage go.

If they didn't like the jumper/logo/song, why were they members/supporters in the first place?

There alot of us who are sad with the changes because we are "proud, loyal and passionate" about the club (that includes it's heritage).

I would rather have these type of people as fellow members rather than any newbies that may come along because the jumper or logo is more appealing (there's no real passion in that).

I can see your point of view (even though I don't agree with it) you just don't seem to see ours??

Queue rgauci quote which sums up all this wailing and gnashing of teeth by some over the changes...

...In the greater scheme of things do you really care?

If you do, venture beyond the screen and get a life.

Highlight below for some reality checks:

3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$2/day

World War II fatality statistics vary, estimates of total dead ranging from 50 million to over 70 million

Nazi Germany conducted experiments on child twins where they were kept in ice baths for upto 3 hours and later seen if they could be revived. They were also sown together to see if conjoined twins could be created. Sometimes there eyeballs were injected with dyes to see if the natural eye colour could be changed. Some of the worst crimes included creating wounds, rubbing ground glass and wood cuttings, injecting bacteria to mimic battle wounds. Of the 1500 twins 'studied' at concentration camps, only 200 survived.

The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male was a clinical study, conducted between 1932 and 1972 in Tuskegee, Alabama, in which 399 (plus 201 control group without syphilis) poor — and mostly illiterate — African American sharecroppers were denied treatment for Syphilis.

The Poison laboratory of the Soviet secret services, also known as Laboratory 1, Laboratory 12 and “The Chamber”, was a covert poison research and development facility of the Soviet secret police agencies. The Soviets tested a number of deadly poisons on prisoners from the Gulag (“enemies of the people”), including mustard gas, ricin, digitoxin and many others. The goal of the experiments was to find a tasteless, odorless chemical that could not be detected post mortem. Candidate poisons were given to the victims, with a meal or drink, as “medication”.

South Africa’s apartheid army forced white lesbian and gay soldiers to undergo ‘sex-change’ operations in the 1970′s and the 1980′s, and submitted many to chemical castration, electric shock, and other unethical medical experiments. Although the exact number is not known, former apartheid army surgeons estimate that as many as 900 forced ‘sexual reassignment’ operations may have been performed between 1971 and 1989 at military hospitals, as part of a top-secret program to root out homosexuality from the service.

The Monster Study was a stuttering experiment on 22 orphan children in Davenport, Iowa, in 1939 conducted by Wendell Johnson at the University of Iowa. Johnson chose one of his graduate students, Mary Tudor, to conduct the experiment and he supervised her research. After placing the children in control and experimental groups, Tudor gave positive speech therapy to half of the children, praising the fluency of their speech, and negative speech therapy to the other half, belittling the children for every speech imperfection and telling them they were stutterers. Many of the normal speaking orphan children who received negative therapy in the experiment suffered negative psychological effects and some retained speech problems during the course of their life.

"Only support Freo on the side ", GTFO !!

No one appreciates a Freagle mate, on the weages board you might be welcome, but your whinging is falling on deaf ears.

A Freagle, Shame on you.

Yep go ahead and insult the side that doesn't agree with you and then complain about the fighting. Makes perfect sense.

I acknowledge your point of view, but dismiss it as handwringing and petulant.

I didn't become a foundation member because of some colours and a song. I joined because I have a deep family connection to Fremantle and desperately wanted to be part of a club that was based there.

If they came out wearing pink tutu's and sang a spanish flamenco song I really couldn't care.

I also question the talk of heritage.

What heritage? What history??

Is it linked with success and pride?

No.
