He's still like 17. To be around the fringes of a state lineup is pretty good IMO.

The only newcomer to the squad is Northern District off-spinner Chris Green who offers a spinning option should conditions dictate. Green, took 21 wickets at 26.19 for his club in the McDonald’s Sydney First Grade competition last season.

The one dayers are played in a block in two locations - earlier games in Brissie and the later ones in Sydney.

Larkin is an opener, Conway a fast bowler while Somerville and Jackson are both spinners.

Carters, Larkin, Henry, Patterson, Rohrer, Nevill, Sandhu, Lalor, Hazlewood, Jackson/Summerville would be my line up.

Is Carters staying in the middle order? Read an article where Bevan was working with him to hang around there rather than opening.

Might opt for 5 bowlers though since this is a NSW Shield team...
 
Will Somerville!!!! Never thought I'd see him playing shield cricket. Had a decent enough first grade career which is about where I had always pegged him. Absolutely Stoked for him, but at the same time very very aware it's a very left field selection, especially at 30yo. He'll be up against it but he is one of the good guys and can't begrudge him at all getting a chance to experience what first class is about, and who knows what could happen. Sister died in a car accident about 7 or 8 years ago.
