Surely they are just investing their marketing $ where they reckon they'll get the best return. If there's a principle to be had, it's those that accept the $ that need to take the higher ground.
I think they're killing two birds with one stone. Reach a wide audience, have them associate your brand with healthy sport, rather than the unhealthy nature of the product itself. I think you're right that the Crows bare some responsibility. We do have regulators too though. It's not like we have to just put our hands up and let the free market decide.

on a side note it really was criminal that the AFL back in the 90s block Fitzroy's sponsorship with Schweppes that they got on account it conflicted with the league's major partner in Coca-Cola

it was actually announced before the Tex incident that the Optus sponsorship was finishing up this year

This is a lie. We were told after the event that the decision was already made and that the Tex incident had nothing to do with it. But nobody has ever been able to post the announcement dated prior to the Tex thing. Care to be the first? Didn't think so.

I have begun costing code blacks for the 1st time. Don't believe any other LHN does. Costs well over $1M pa with 6 staff attending each call. Just as much as Code Blues.

Costed Covid cases today, as gather SAH wanting to project cost of opening up on the health system.
I know a story of a female nurse that called a code black on a female doctor.

Glory be, the bitchiness that followed was on another level.

Yeah a whopper at the end of a drunken night on the way back from a party is something I've done plenty of times. Hits the spot, soaks up the alcohol.
???

When do you have a yiros then?

I had one of my ex-staff throw fruit at another staff member... so sent her off for counselling.

Seen plenty of bullying in health, but can't say I have experienced a code black.

You will also know there is one rule for some and another rule for others.

Doctors and by that I mean specialists are allowed to get away with far more. Depending on the location of the hospital it can be horrendous of how much they can get away with.

Mind you the worst interactions I have seen and heard of are usually female nurses and female doctors that are around the same age.

Damn. Now I want a Yiros when all I have to eat in the fridge is baked potatoes.
Fond memories of the Greek Islands & yiros with 5 chips inside.

Had to make do with yummy Finnish meatballs tonight.

The Henley Beach Greek Yiros cafe right on the beach might not be the Greek Islands but its closest you can get at this point in time.

That fish and chips shop across the road, made a mint from patients and visitors. Not sure if its still there?

Those Maccas and HJ are about 2km either side in Elizabeth and Salisbury.

EDIT

I forgot to mention do those young ladies with the crop tops that are pregnant still smoke?

I remember there used to be a great Thai place across the road from the LMH. We’d have our weekly departmental meetings on a Friday, and then head over for a serve of drunken noodles, or a mango chicken if you weren’t feeling up for the spice.

There are some legendary stories about pregnant patients giving birth while high as a kite without any anaesthetic…

I don't want to be a karen about this, but I'm fundamentally opposed to fast food chains sponsoring sporting clubs.

And free burgers for long goals is just ridiculous

I take a different view. At some point parents have to take responsibility for what their kids eat. Blaming everyone else for the fat kid aside from the parents I don't agree with. If adults can't make adult decisions isn't that on them? I totally disagree with society pandering to excuse makers. In SA now, we are dealing with a government still pandering to those making excuses not to get the jab by making life hard for everyone.

Even though its been proven that Optus didn't walk away because of Tex and they used it as an excuse, Hungry Jacks coming on board only proved how fruitless of a stance it is for sponsors to get involved in club incidents. There are always sponsors ready to replace anyone who leaves.
Might be a bit different if you were relying on myATM for sponsorship and they were to bail.
