Our current sponsor list is still showing all the same as last year. Would imagine they would be quick to remove it once they stop sponsoring us.

I’m getting the sponsor list without them

St Kilda’s march to the AFL Women’s competition in 2020 has received a major boost with leading Australian office paper brand Reflex committing to a landmark five-year sponsorship deal.

Reflex will be introduced as the major sponsor of St Kilda’s women’s teams at the club’s season launch at Frankston Park on Friday night, when the Southern Saints are presented to fans alongside the men’s team.

The agreement sees Reflex become the major sponsor of the Southern Saints (VFL Women’s) in 2018 and 2019, before continuing their support as major sponsor of St Kilda’s inaugural AFLW Team for at least three years.

St Kilda’s Chief Commercial Officer Christine Finnegan said the partnership would be a gamechanger for St Kilda.

“To have a leading Australian brand like Reflex supporting St Kilda’s path to AFLW is a great opportunity for the young women who will wear the red, white and black for the first time.”

“Their long term support will provide the foundation for St Kilda to build a strong women’s football program, and enable a new generation, and gender, of St Kilda heroes to emerge,” Finnegan said.

“All girls and boys can now dream of wearing a St Kilda jumper, and thanks to Reflex, the region’s best female footballers will now have access to the necessary resources and coaches to reach their full potential.

“To have Reflex on board as the major partner of the Southern Saints and committed to supporting our inaugural St Kilda AFLW team, speaks volumes for Australian Paper’s dedication to the community and women’s sport more broadly.

“With AFLW still in its infancy, the support of companies like Australian Paper is paramount to the competition’s long term sustainability.”

In addition to supporting St Kilda’s women’s teams, Reflex will also become a premier partner of the South Metro Junior Football League, one of the biggest community junior leagues in Australia.

The SMJFL has over 11,000 registered players set to take to the field in 2018, including 2,000 girls.

Australian Paper CEO Mr Kashima said the company was thrilled to be partnering with St Kilda for five years.

“We decided that if we were going to support women’s football, then it needed to be a genuine and a long term commitment.”

“Supporting the Southern Saints, and then St Kilda’s inaugural AFLW team, demonstrates this commitment.

“We look forward to watching St Kilda’s new stars take the field and continue to change the face of Australian football.”

Awesome work by the saints and a massive up you to those moaners complaining about the cost of women’s football to the club, reported to be 1mill a year. Great work in tying in the junior league to the saints as well

Great news! Don't think we've signed many 5 year sponsorship deals before
Particularly for a team playing in a low grade comp for 40% of the deal.
Effectively it is $1mill over three years, the first two must be heavily discounted as there is little benefit to the sponsor. Not many eyes are going to be watching VFLW in years 1 & 2.
So it does represent a significant investment by them.
This is the level of sponsorship that would be welcome at Sandringham.
It will be interesting to see what, if any, incremental membership is derived from the AFLW team.
It would need very little to be self funding, slightly more for it to be positive.
Makes the club’s total business model so much more viable!!

Interestingly, on the video, Reflex is introduced as a Co-major sponsor.
So more to come in this space that would suggest.
That's a very interesting observation there sunny3193..........I certainly will be watching the space.

Doubt if I’ll get an answer, but have sent another email to the club re-possible sponsorship from a large company in Toowoomba.
The company have now put in a bid to build a new airport in Western Sydney, would be good if we could get them as they, like us are are building.
Unfortunately I dare say the club gets thousands of emails everyday and probably most are discarded, will just keep on trying.

Good on you Grav for at least giving it another go.

It's worth the club following up on any lead/s......one could just pay off.

All I can suggest if not reply is obtained....try and find out who Matt Finnis's PA is...fire an e/mail off to him or her... ...they could then forward it on.

I will say probably not as many as you'd think, I know at my work I generally just file away anything that looks like the individual(s) really had no desire or ability to put together something which visually pops and contains enough information as "junk" instead of forwarding on to relevant departments when in written form.

You generally get a lot more traction when contact is made otherwise to show some impetus / sincerity in any sort of agreement.

Sent another email this morning, worded a bit differently & received an answer from the club, they will be contacting the company within the next 24hrs. Hopefully for the Saints, something becomes of it.
