Via a mate I will be going to the Stadium for tour on Sunday 3rd Dec. I've got shed load of things I'm curious to know but obviously I haven't thought of everything so if you have questions you'd like answered fire away & I'll do my best to source the answers.
Obviously I can't get pictures from everyone's seats but I'll do my best to get pics from various places, such as those restricted viewing seats I referred too in the previous post & also the ground level front fence as well as the glass barriers on level 3 & 5.

Also I will no longer need the 6 tickets I have for the Stadium Open Day 21st Jan 3-4 pm. As most will know there is a delivery delay so they haven't appeared as printable tickets yet in my Ticketmaster account but happy to forward them once they do. Flick me a PM with ur email & how many you need. I'd prefer to give them to someone who missed out in the original offering, please don't be greedy by asking for more than you really need. I'll update once the 6 are gonski.

From the back row of 113 to the middle of 126...and it costs me $16 less...and I get to stay in the aisle seat. Can't complain really.
Can't complain? Shouldn't it have saved you $670 a seat?

Howdy purple neighbour. Our 4 seats are block 516 row 5. If during the tour I can get to my seat (be surprised If I can't) I'll take a pic for you from the front row.
Pic would be great. I’m block 517 row 15 so a little back from you but it would be good to get a sense of it.

My Harbour Master mate is 517 R12 so was intending take one for him so will do my best to get you one from R15 if the tour allows me to get there.
I still have 4 x tickets left for the Stadium Open Day 21st Jan 3-4 pm for those that require them.

Just had a tour of the stadium this morning.
There will be very few disappointed people come round 2: even the seats in the very back row have a great view.

Would love a pic - cheers mate.

I'm overseas on the open day so I'll see the view from my seat in 511 for the first time live.
I'm thinking there's gonna be some great signs and passages with no finished product.
Work in progress season,tanking isn't all bad.:p

As we know regular membership prices for normal members have gone up big time particularly Cat 1 & 2.
Guess someone had to cop a price increase considering the 2018 Premium & Corporate Packages have been reduced in price from the comparable 2017 packages.
Some packages have not had the pricing published but I thinks it safe to say, given those that are published are reduced that it's most probable these non published priced packages would be reduced also.

So basically in terms of % price increase wise the Category 1 & 2 memberships are burdened with carrying the most weight of the new stadium costs.
Someone has to make up the financial shortfall & it certainly isn't the Premium & Corporate Packages doing the lifting nor will it be the $249 memberships that Steve Rosich was spruiking about.
Seriously? WTF?

I can also say with certainty that there are over 2000 restricted view seats* in the level 3 & 5 blocks particularly around the entry/exit points many of which were not offered during the initial seating allocation but will be offered at 70% of cost post allocation process. But there are others that are full price that when members get to sit in them they will be not happy with the viewing obstructions. I've sat in the seats and whether they are sold as such or not they have viewing restrictions.
Those bloody metal railings & glass barriers are shockers.
Having said that I was surprised how close the ground appears from even the top rows of the top level.

From the FAQ on the FFC membership website.
What does restricted view mean?
The AFL has classed restricted view seating based on the below parameters:
Obstructed view refers to seats that have obstruction directly in the line of view of the playing arena and could include, but is not limited to, being positioned behind a railing, broadcast camera, speakers or support poles. The playing arena does not include the goal posts, scoreboard or the ball going beyond the playing boundary lines. Obscured view tickets are categorised based on a person of average height and their inability to view at least two thirds of the playing arena.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics classify the average Australian male as 175.6 cm tall & 161.8cm for females.
Worth noting if you end up in discussions with the club post parking your arse in your seat. But good luck with that given they only have provide you with a view of 2/3 rds of the playing arena for it not to be classified as restricted viewing. A nice little bit of shifty arse covering right there.

If it makes anyone feel better the 66 people (particularly the front row) who have shelled out $4950 for the Inside 50 (between the coaches boxes) have the same glass barrier issue. But stadium management are working on a solution for those premium seats. They are not though for the normal member seats affected by the front row glass barriers. In fact every row is effected by them to some degree but IMHO front row is nasty and 2nd row not much better 3 rd row a bit better again and so on.

My understanding is those Dockers members that were lucky enough to be allocated 211-216 @ $999/seat may have (& at this stage it is only a may, as it's yet to be confirmed definitively) access to what Meth Coke Eagles (MCE) have sold as The Landing. http://events.wce.com.au/hospitality/the-landing
Good luck to them if they do have that access as it looks like a good area to stand, eat, drink and still watch the game. I envy them if they do.

The Dockers from my understanding are selling the Sky View Deck (SVD), along with the 1500 person capacity River View Room (which can be separated into 3 x 500 person sections) as part of the Supporters Club i.e. a $100 membership add on.
The SVD is licensed for 500 people so how it will work if more than 500 take up the offer, is yet to be revealed.
I've asked the membership team & they couldn't answer my obvious question of who will get priority into the SVD if for example 2000 members take up the Supporters Club add on. They said perhaps it'll be on length of membership basis to which I asked, facetiously I might add, are you saying if 500 members are already in the SVD area will a lesser year member be asked to vacate for a longer term member & they replied they haven't worked those details out yet.
I couldn't believe they took my question seriously. It worries me though that they didn't reject that proposition outright.
The outside area of the SVD has tables & chairs but there is still the same view for free albeit no tables and chairs (nor full strength beers) for those that are happy to stand on the other side of the ~1.4m glass barrier that corrals those in the outside area of the SVD.
FWIW after seeing the bar area under block 518 & knowing we can have a drink & if we choose too meander about 100m or so & see the exact same view as those in the SVD for free our group has decided we won't be taking up the $100 Supporters Club add on. Buyer beware I say.
Effectively they have not only bumped up seat prices but have added further insult by now asking for another $100 for what will essentially be Billy Walker rooms/decks/areas with a view.
I note also on the video for the Supporters Club it states access to these areas is before & after the match, no mention of during. The Sports Lounge video says before, during & after which leads me to believe the "during access" to the SVD & RVR for Supporters Club is not an over sight. It would be worth asking the question before you decide to part with the $100.

As for the MCE Talon Bar package at $3255, IMHO blocks 530/531 as far as seats go they are about the the worst* Corporate Package seats in the stadium given there are only 3 rows so - yep you guessed it - they are heavily affected by the glass barrier issue, I've sat there & seen it with my own eyes. Again row 1 being the worst closely followed by row 2 with row 3 not as bad but still view affected. Yes they get some grub & full strength beers. But for that price? Reminds me of the saying about fools & their money.
*It's a toss up between The Talon Bar & The Sky View Deck where 500 MCE members will part with $2700 to sit in block 528 but will have access to the SVD, some grub & full strength beers. Just another 500 fools me thinks. But if those fools subside normal punters I wish the Dickers had the capacity to do the same if it meant cheaper Cat 1 & 2 pricing but I can't see purple collar Dockers members falling for that malarky in those sorts of #'s.

IMHO the reason Dockers Cat 1 & 2 pricing is greater than MCE's A & B Reserve is due to both clubs having to pay the same rent to the stadium operator VenuesLive but MCE will have far fewer empty seats and are charging their corporates far more (as they bloody well should) than the Dockers are for reasons outlined in the paragraph below. Note also that there are thousands more Dockers Cat 1/2 seats compared to MCE A/B Reserve seats as MCE reduce the seat category/$'s the further from the front of a block your seat is unlike the Dockers who regard a row 4 seat as good as a row 22 seat in all Cat 1/2 blocks on level 3 & 5 (cough bullshit cough). MCE also have many blocks that are regarded as premium or corporate compared to Dockers, i.e. the 3 blocks mentioned above as well as The Blue & Gold terrace blocks 351-354.
So MCE A/B Reserve members are not shouldering the load that the Dockers Cat 1/2 members are.

The Dockers unfortunately, due to reasons of supply & demand, would be reacting to last years corporate figures which unsurprisingly would have plummeted in 2017 given our piss poor performance in 2016.
I personally know of 2 mates who run small business's & they didn't renew their 2 x 6 seat open boxes in 2017 due to a weaker economy but more so due to the s**t house performances they were enduring which gave them no desire to continue to part those sorts of $'s for that level of entertainment. They now have regular memberships like the rest of us mug punters.

And I think it's fair to say they FFC, know just how fickle those corporates can be & have reacted by lowering corporate prices accordingly, which is the opposite to the way they have priced the seating for rusted on Cat 1 & 2 members, who they know will take it up the clacker, complain about it but will continue to fork out their hard earned anyway.

By the way Docker members who are seated in blocks 351-354 you have access to a pretty schmick bar & undercover seating/standing/tabled area behind your blocks. Which will come in handy on hot/sunny or NW wind blowing/rain affected games. You deserved something for your $999 seats facing into sun and that should be some consolation.

One of the guys at work has got 4 tickets in block 354, which I thought would be in the sun all day....for $999 each. But as you say you can you can retire to the bar behind though.

Hi Sally. Since you seem to be the BF poster with the most knowledge about seating at the new stadium, I was wondering if you've heard anything about (a) the uptake of seated memberships by 2017 members, and (b) the number of seats that will be made available to the general public?

Sorry mate I don't know the answers to your Q's. There were about 6300 empty seats when I was locked out 4 days before the previous priority period ended.
What I can say though is all group leaders can expect an email soon (& by soon I was advised in the next day or 3) advising that the seat allocation portal will be reopened but only for about 5 days this time. It will be done as per previously i.e. longest serving group leaders get first crack at the seats members didn't accept/confirm. I did ask how many additional seats would be up for grabs but they were non committal. They obviously don't want it known how many members dropped off, but that will soon be revealed using some simple math when the next round opens.
Anyone considering taking front row seats (even second row for that matter) behind the glass barriers pm ur email and I'll send u pics so you are fore warned before you lock them seats in. Also if you're considering aisle seats anywhere near the entry/exits on level 3 or 5 level you might also want to see some pics before you commit.
Anyone thinking of the $999 350-354 blocks may like to see some pics of the view from the back of block 353 & the undercover open bar/tables & chairs area behind those blocks. They may sway you to go that way if your current seats are not to your liking and you don't like what becomes available.

Also the Eagle fans are paying $1150 or something ridiculous for seats in blocks 351 -354.

A lot of our cat 1 seats are being used for more expensive packages at WCE.

Hi All, can anyone who has inspected/visited the ground tell me whether blocks 211/212 are any good from a viewing perspective? They seem very deep in the pocket?

Are your seats in those blocks?
Mate if they are, you should get the hell out of them as soon as you can.
Just make sure you let me know when you intend to vacate so I can park my arse in them.

Seriously you'll have won 2nd division mug punter member seating lotto if have or are able to secure those blocks.
Apparently there is more to those blocks than just the seats.

Hi Sally, would really appreciate if you could post the pic of the back of block 353 as we are in 352 and would like to see how it looks from the back. Thanks , and really appreciate all your information. Cheers.

Cheers for that, but I'm not really convinced. We are coming from centre-wing where we have sat for 10+ years on an aisle. The view on the virtual viewer is not even close to comparable. So yeah salty AF.

I had a tour of the stadium last week and will say this - no one from any level will have a bad seat. Levels 1 + 5 are the 'standard' seats and even in the back row of level 5 you have a great view. Levels 2/3/4 are all various degrees of 'special' and the views are amazing. The virtual stadium stuff doesnt do justice - the place, facilities and views are truly awesome, and personally cannot wait to get in there regularly!

For a taste - the view from 346. Enjoy.
