Good marketing tool, get all the West Coast supporters on board. Down with McGowan (at least for the next election)!!

I wonder if this will mean those who only hold onto memberships to prevent losing them and never getting them back will relinquish theirs.

Its 17,000 more capacity than Subiaco. They want more seats for away teams for tourism. They want more seats for general public to buy. They want more seats for corporates.

Thats not going to leave many seats left over for extra members. Membership will be sold out in the new stadium pretty quickly. Sign up everyone on the waiting list, then the people that can't be bothered going on the waiting list and it will be full again.

How many members out there like me that would upgrade to a family membership if allowed? 4 other guys I go with, members for 10+ years are all now married, most with kids. Can imagine a heap of other people are in the same boat.

Bet they won't even need to run an advertising campaign for new members.

If for example 10k seats were available every match for GA, that would mean our membership would increase by 13,000.

I daresay you might find that if people can get a decent seat to 4 or 5 games a year, they might be willing to relinquish their seats. It won't happen straight away, but i think within a few years people will cotton on.

Also- I think we'll also see the introduction of the 5 or 6 game membership - which is something I'd be interested in.

I'm llucky in that i get to most games I want anyway with other memberships, but being in the wings, i'm hoping by 2018 when my boys are old enough to sit through a game of footy - we can get seats

Maybe. But their is a pretty big elephant in the room when you are talking about 5-6 game memberships, or people just trying to buy a ticket when they feel like it.

Its called the Derby.

Everyone wants the derby. Not everyone can have it. If you are paying a higher premium just for a derby to be included in your 5 game membership you might as well just get a full 11 game one. 5 game memberships will be a total mess. I want this game, I dont want that game, Im away for this game. No thanks.

Also heaps of people can't be stuffed going through the hassels of lining up / refreshing ticketmaster every time they want to go to a game. I find it annoying enough having to do it for finals if we make them.

It's quite sad to think that you guys would have had a new stadium in just two years if there wasn't a change in government in 2008. I am so happy to be getting the far less glamorous redeveloped stadium in just two years because it'll be one of the highlights of my last few years in this state.

Ive posted it elsewhere before, but I still think hanging on to In The Wings is worth it for 6 more years... its not much $ for the few benefits, but most importantly it will determine the order of seat allocation at the new stadium. There can be a huge difference in the quailty of the 40,000th member's seat and the 55,000th members seat, and every time someone in front of you gives up a membership, you'll always be earlier in the line to upgrade to better seats... always 15,000 better seats in front of the guy who gave it away only to rejoin in 6 years.

Needs to have at least 70000 seats.

This, i don't get.

Now i would like to see 60,000 seats and then boxes on top of that figure. Westcoast would pull just under capacity most games with no more than 5,000 seats free when we are up and about and then it would be sold out against Fremantle and for big games against the big victorian sides.

70,000 seats will sell out for Derby's and Finals, thats it.

Why are we so obsessed about filling a stadium all the time? Problem with our infrastructure is we cater for the minimum. This project needs to be done right in the first instance.
This is one of the reasons why we don't get world cups etc.
Camp Nou, Old Trafford, Bernabéu.. all massive and not always full.

needs atleast 70. imagine sold out derbies, finals wowweee. The G doesnt sell out every final so why should we be worried if the new stadium cant. We have to build this for the best case scenario one offs and the future in site. If we build a 60,000 seater whats gonna happen when we out grow that one?

The G sells out twice a year, and even then one of those is never full (ANZAC)

Yep. In trying to find an answer to your question, I stumbled upon the following. The link may have been posted before.

A bit off-topic, but I'm an in-the-wings member and I understand 1 ITW membership entitles you to a waitlist spot for up to 4 seats (2 adult and 2 children). My question is - when the children reach 18 can you change these to adult seats?
