I know tennis in oz doesn't exist outside the oz open and davis cup but one Daniela Hantuchova has spanked Hingis in some meaningless competition.

Sounds like Hingis was playing OK but Daniela dictated terms. I noticed her in last years Oz open. She has the placement skills of hingis but is 5'10 and in a year or so will mix it with the heavy hitters in the curcuit.

Martina must be spewing as there is yet another big hitter to beat in future.

PS and she's a looker too

Gotta feel for Hingis, she is twice the tennis player of Venus, Serena, Davenport, Capriati etc etc yet cant beat them regularly because of there power. If she could hit the ball harder she would absolutely dominate womens tennis.

Agreed.

She's the best "tennis" player in the world by a mile. (including the men.)

They should go back to using tiny wooden rackets. Then we'd get an idea of who can actually play tennis.

No but it would be nice. I am a big Hingis fan but perhaps she would feel better if the 'new' champion was someone who played her brand of tennis.

If this chick of yours cant hit the ball like Venus, Serena etc etc then she wont win a thing. Hingis has unrivalled skill but doesnt get a chance to use it because she sits and watchs forehand winners etc from Venus and Co... ****s me to tears.

Its why i love Hewitt, doesnt have the big serve or the huge groundstrokes but still bitchslaps the best of em!

Shes just 18, ie just developing, but her serve is marginally slower than the 'smashers' at this stage. she gets a few aces but doesn't play boring tennis.
