I am ****ing disgusted... yet again... at the AFC.

Until yesterday, anyone could access the "Members Only" section, because membership was membership to the website, not the club.

Now, they've decided to change it - and make it club members only, which I thought was fair enough...

But hang on!

"Entry to the members only area of the website is restricted to our Captains Club, Gold, Bronze, Crows Zone, Crows Nest and
Boundary line members and is a benefit of membership within those categories with our Club."

I'm a Silver Member.

Basically, I have a choice - I can either pay an extra $60 or so to become a Gold Member - or move 500km out in to the country, so I can qualify for Bronze Membership (I was under the impression that Bronze was a level below Silver, but that must just be me..)

I can't believe these arsewipes. Talk about cashing in... 'Team for All South Australian's' my arse.

Being a Silver MEMBER, you would assume that you would be able to access a page titled: "Member's Only", but no, of course not! They want an extra $60 for that privilege!

Another complete crock of shit from the AFC. Silver members are practically the only membership class that can't get in there and use the Forum, etc. We pay on average, about $150 for our season tickets/membership, whatever they want to call it, and they're still not satisfied.

GRRR!!

'Team for all South Australians', seems that this quote is starting to wear a little thin.

But Go South I don't really think there will be much to read in there this year so it is probably in your best interest not to look anway, they have now just saved you the job.

Your team was the one that had an Opinion Poll over whether or not Chad Cornes should cut his hair.

Case rested.

I can sort of see where you're coming from, but the Club needs to make money to keep operating in the AFL. One way to do this is to have different membership categories. To make it worthwhile to be a "Gold" member, one of the privileges is to have access to certain sections of the web-site. As I see it "Silver membership" is basically a ticket to the game. If you wish to contribute a bit more to the Club you get a bit more back.

BTW, Bronze m/ship is available to anyone, not just country members - that's Boundary Line membership. We are Cat. 2 members of the SANFL, and have chosen to become Gold members of the Crows to get extra benefits. I almost got the Bronze, as there's not much difference between the two, except Gold gives you first option on final tickets.

I'm sure the Power has similar rates of membership. All the Clubs are in the same boat when it comes to raising money, despite what the Power fans try to tell us

So despite the fact we go to every home game and pay more than bronze members,we should be excluded from the "members only" part of the website?? Bullshit.

When all is said and done we are still members of the AFC, and we should have rights to the "members only" of the website.

One again the AFC have forgotten the average supporter who pays it money to go and watch it's club.

Hehe... But it didn't cost an extra $60 to vote....

SEE YOU ALL IN THE GOALKICKERS BAR ON SUNDAY WEEK

I have access, and I am not saying what status my membership is in case it inciminates me! but all I can say is if your disgracefull comments on this site is anything to go by I am glad you are not eligable. You are negative and rude and the club can most certianly do without your comments.

Be positive about the year and maybe someone will help you find a loop hole in the system.

Yes, I managed to find a loop hole - it wasn't too difficult, funnily enough.

Well, I'm terribly sorry for having an opinion of my own.

Unlike many of the other posters on this board, I refuse to arse-kiss the AFC, and when I don't think something is right, I will stand up for my point of view.

The point we are trying to make is why should we pay all this money...more money than a Bronze member, to not be given the same access as other memberships? Personally I don't visit the site often, but what are we getting for our money?? 11 home games and a reserved seat?? Wow! I could go to BASS and buy my tickets for each game and still get the same things as I do now! It's all bullshit. Yet again the AFC is cutting out the general supporter who sits through the games rain, hail or sunshine.

I can see your point, though you have an aggressive way of expressing it.

One way of looking at it is this: You are supporting the Club by being a Season Ticket holder. I'm sure the Club absolutely appreciates the support you give. You are not officially a Club "Member", even though the AFL counts ticket holders in the membership numbers.

On the other hand, some people go that little bit extra in their support by becoming a Club "Member". As a reward to those people the Club offers extra benefits.

Not all Season Ticket holders wish to become members of the Club, and unfortunately not all Season Ticket holders are able to afford the extra. But to those who are able to find the extra money, the Club wishes to provide them with extras.
