I don't typically like doing these things but here we are. It's December 31 and we've got an opportunity to pause and reflect on 2025 and perhaps look on 2026 with a new set of opportunities.
I have finally decided that it's time to eviscerate AI from my life as it's been leading to a decline in productivity and self development. I've found it's making me lazier and lazier in sourcing my own information and in developing my own ideas and creativity. I'm starting to see the serious implications for society and I've decided to nip this shit in the bud and get back to building upon my own creativity. Here's the thing: The more I keep using AI, the more I lose my identity and in particular writing a simple poem, or a story, or even movie review is stripping me of my individuality.
I also had been using Copilot blended in with Excel and it's been an absolute nightmare going around in circles when I could have done what I did in my coding days and discovered the answer through self exploration and or self learning. Even for a simple exercise in Excel with Pivot Tables it was sending me around in circles doing stupid operations that never worked in the end but when I decided to think for myself I worked it out.
Further to that, the language AI copilot uses is starting to really become predictable, using terms like "R, You're right to question that", "that's a well grounded response", "You've started to anchor down on this process".
So here it is: 2026 is going to be AI free. No Co pilot, or any other AI based tools
Here's to 2026
