Forecast was sunny and 23 during the day, so around 20 degrees come 7pm?

Looking forward to the first ball. The lack of any pace in the NZ side is disappointing, so hopefully the spinners can get the job done.

Should be a reasonable series this one. Hope the Kiwi's are competitive in the tests. Like the Kiwi's and hate the Saffa's

Although I get the feeling Steyn and Phillander could clean up in NZ conditions

Solid crowd at the Cake Tin tonight, good start by NZ to have SA 4 for 64.

Kiwis are doing very well so far. RSA 4/61. Good fielding has been the highlight.

Kiwi commentators are giving C9 a run for their money in the bias stakes. The good thing is that they don't even pretend to be neutral.

Was going to say the same thing re the commentary. When did Guptill become the next reincarnation of Jesus?. You would actually be fooled into believing he's ever done anything against good teams the way they go on about him.

I reckon. The denied stumping of de Villiers was the best. Smith was adamant it was out, until his fellow commentator (might have been Doull?) pointed out that there was quite clearly a portion of his foot over the line.

4 sixes in a row from Ontong!

don't mind guptill, though the recent zimbabwe series has padded out his ODI average a bit (adds about an extra 10 runs). possibly their least-shit test opener for the last few years.

NZ cruising at the moment.

The local commentators love crapping on about Guptill..

He's chock full of lip Guptill, which is alright, hope the boy can back it up.

Ed: Nite nite WIlliamson.

Ed Ed: and Guptill gets nutted, then swats a boundary

Ed Ed Ed: Then some bloke whose name takes too long to type goes.

So its 11 from 10 needed.

Nice innings by Guptill, he was just unstoppable tonight. That six that went on the roof was one of the longest hits I've ever seen.

SA's bowling looked a little bit toothless tonight, apart from Morne, but they'll be a different animal come the test series

well in fairness he's had a hell of a summer both in domestic 20/20 and the internationals. He's been unbelievable.
and South Africa are a pretty fair team
Averages 40 odd in One day cricket & 35 in 20/20.Plus made the World ODI team a couple of years ago..so he's been pretty good.
Still someway to go in test cricket though

and Commentators are always biased towards their own nation.Ours are no exception...But still a long long way to go to match some of the Ch9 commentary team..Ian Healy is unbelievable

This must be a small ground if they reckon 174 is a bit short..

Not a bad knock from Levi, 100 off 45 balls with a lazy 12 sixes.

Looks like SA are going to level the T20 series.
