But he used to have Minki. He brought her out to Australia on his first tour.

For some bizarre reason most of the SA cricketers have WAGs out of their league.

Steyn is dating an actress who's been in British production, Boucher has a Wonderbra model, Kallis has an international model, Neil McKenzie has a former Wonderbra model.:):)

Well Steyn is arguably the best fast bowler in the world, Boucher has been one of the best keepers for a number of years, Kallis is one of the greatest all rounders ever seen. Neil MacKenzie...no explanation.

Flynn and Brownlie in the aquad for the 3rd Test as expected. 14-man squad seems a bit excessive, I mean Andrew Ellis? The guy is the Steve Smith of NZ cricket. Nethula is still there but won't play at the Basin if he didn't get a go on more spinner-friendly pitches in the previous matches. Looks like it'll be back to the three seamers plus Vettori, instead of the four quicks and Vettori at 6.

Cricinfo is reporting that Flynn is going to open. Seriously, wtf? He's a no. 5 and McCullum is in the side as an opener and has done a very solid job of it of late (as shown my the Stat Chat guy's segment yesterday).

So just for the sake of it, here's my XI for this match: McCullum, Guptill, Flynn, Taylor, Williamson, Brownlie, Vettori, van Wyk, Bracewell, Gillespie, Martin.

And Windies squad: McCullum, Guptill, Williamson, Taylor, Ryder, Brownlie, Vettori, Watling, Bracewell, Nethula, Martin.
With squad members: van Wyk, Wagner, Flynn, Boult, Latham

Pisspot hasn't been recalled. He's stepped away from cricket for awhile [i.e sent to A.A ???]

Dont think we'll see Ryder for a while. He has some issues both Alcohol and mental health related to get over first

I think they have to open with McCullum, Drop Flynn down to 5 and have Williamson at 3

Not ideal changing players from spots where they've recently performed, but its throwing lambs to the wolves expecting Flynn to open

We look a lot stronger with Brownlie at 6 & Vetorri at 7. No point having 4 seamers if one of them is Arnel. Brownlie will be good for 5-10 overs too

Did you see the stats shown in the coverage the other day for all the openers NZ have had in the last 5 or so years ?

McCullum had an average of something like 45 and no other player averaged above 28.

I'm gonna be interested to see the pitch thats produced. The weather here has been pretty average but its starting to change for the better today with rain easing today and tomorrow. There hasnt been much sun out at all for the last couple of days so it could be a nice green wicket. Atm the forecast is for rain on Saturday, but hey its Wellington so anything could happen :D

I hope we see a bit of grass. I'm sick of tuning in on the first morning and seeing nothing but brown.

Mate, I haven't seen the sun since Monday or Tuesday, its been so long I've forgotten :D So the odds of a brown wicket should be quite low (i hope)

I did see them..it was embarrasing some of the players they selected too.

I think Flynn is a good cricketer, but hes not an opener.

I was shocked to see Tim MacIntosh at 2nd on the list. Somehow he was averaging 28, yet since his stint in the team, whenever a hear the word "zero" he usually crosses my mind. I don't think I've seen an international batsman so ridiculously out of their depth since Xavier Marhsall.

he got a hundred against the West Indies and another against India (in India)..so had some ability

He's just a notoriously bad starter even in first class cricket..its either a score under 10 or a hundred..doesnt seem like any middle ground !
Hardly any runs this year though so he wont be back for a while

He made 80 odd against Australia the other year as well, at the Basin, the most boring innings I've ever had the misfortune to sit through :D
yeah he can make Boycott seem like Warner !

It will be interesting to see how the Saffa bolwers cope with the wind at the basin.Especially whoever bowls into it !
Normally a good cricket wicket down there,so should see some decent cricket. Hopefully the weather stays away

Well... the sun is well masked by a layer of cloud enveloping the entire city.

Its supposed to reach 20 with a few showers according to metservice, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Whoever wins the toss is bowling first no doubt :D Theres a northerly coming in tomorrow so I'd want to be batting around then.
