This from Twitter: "New Zealand review an lbw decision and find that Doug Bracewell has overstepped. Don't think that's happened before #nzvsa"

Day 1 honours definitely going to NZ.

The key will be how they go with the bat, got a feeling they might struggle like they did in the tests here. Although as long as they can post a competitive first innings total they might just be able to bowl their way to victory like they did in Hobart.

Didnt Chris Martin got a massive bag against the Saffers last time they tour there, too. Love bowling to them on his own turf

So... all out for 224 and the Kiwis at 1/16, interesting test set up here. Is the ball darting around? If so, you'd have to think Morkel, Philander and Steyn will be all over them early

All out for 238 and 1/40 at lunch. Ball isn't really doing that much from what I've seen. SA need a few quick ones

NZ 2/41 now.

They really need a big partnership from Taylor and McCullum as they don't have the strongest batting order after these two.

NZ 5/144 at tea.

They will more than likely be conceding a first innings lead now unless Vettori can perform some heroics with help from the lower order.

NZ gutsed it out to 2 for a hundred odd, then lost 3 fairly quickly.

Not much in the deck, SA have a quality bowling line up, bowled stump to stump and kept the pressure on.

Kiwis looking pretty wobbly atm. 5/144

Terrific crowd and it's a beaut little oval.

Two very absorbing days of cricket so far, this has all the makings of a great Test match. NZ will lead by no more than 10, so it may come down to whether or not South Africa can be bowled out twice for under 300 on what is a pretty lifeless pitch for the seamers. Southee might be bowling for his place in the side tomorrow.

I think Philander has already proven that he's not just a greentop bully. This guy is the real thing. Nicol never stood a change once he went out to open.

Valuable lead of 35 for NZ after Boult took 22 from one Philander over. It was exactly the same kind of strokeplay he played at Hobart to get those runs with Martin.

So great to get Amla cheap. Some confusion about the catch, but I think it was fine. Kallis has a very shaky start but looked very good in the 15-20 minutes heading into lunch.

Bracewell with both wickets too.

A handy lead here for SA, the middle session is going to be crucial here. If the Kiwis can get through Smith, Kallis and AB you'd have them as favourites, but if the Proteas can pile on a hundred losing one or none, you'd fancy them to win it from there

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure Trent Boult is ready for Test cricket just yet, he had some good results against Zimbabwe but the Saffers are a different kettle of fish and he is being carved up a little here. It just releases the pressure that Martin, Southee, Bracewell and Vettori can build

Lead gone past 150, NZ must be getting absolutely desperate for a wicket now.
