New Zealand vs Bangladesh (2 Tests)

Funny hearing the NZ commentators constantly criticising Bangladesh picking a spinner yesterday.

Now they've changed their tune and are saying Ravindra will have to bowl a lot of overs and the wicket isn't doing much.

Good start from Bangladesh, I remember they were making strides years ago and then got destroyed by South Africa Away which really set them back.

A long way to go but some success on this tour would definitely breathe some life into Test Cricket which is looking shaky after how awful England have been.

I love cricket, but Bangladesh is one side who I could barely name one of their players, doesn’t help that we never play them, have they improved much over the past decade?

They didn't criticise them for picking a spinner more that they bowled him for 30 overs on the 1st day.

More hilarious that some were saying NZ would only have to bat once. Maybe if they were playing England and not a stronger side like Bangladesh

They’ve won tests against England and Australia at home and Pakistan maybe??

They’ve definitely improved. They have the only real rival to Stokes and Holder in the ‘worlds best all rounder’ discussion (Shakib Al Hasan), they have a batsman in Mominul Haque who at home at least is world class, Tamim Iqbal is probably behind only Warner and Cook for average output as an opening batsman over the last decade, their spinners at home at least are good, and Mushfiqur Rahim is a test standard batsman.

They’re still a mile of being regularly competitive away from home yet - a total lack of fast bowlers ensures that - but they are better than they were

Is it just me or are the NZ commentators giving zero credit to Bangladesh? One good partnership and they're calling the pitch dead and implying the only way NZ can get a wicket is forcing an error.

Boult and Southee haven't looked that good to me, definitely a class below our bowling this summer.

Hmmm....

The pitch has obviously turned into a road today.

Only explanation for us only taking one wicket so far.

Checks out

Unfortunately Shakib is a T20 specialist these days.

Would Wagner make every team in the world? He is a captain's dream. In India and Aus he might just be a backup bowler, but he has great numbers.
