My two almost BOG efforts in the praccies, will turn into a BIG in the grandest stage of them all.

But if I had a choice of playing shit and winning

dominating and losing.

Yes, we may need a defensive zone for if i miss... I do have a habit of doing that.

Captain's wrap-up:

NAB rising star​

My B.O.G from the newbies and subsequent rising star would be Cooney. Played the very tough and generally unrewarded full back position and played it nicely. Reduced the legends full forward to 4.1 in a game of which there were about 38 scoring shots. He had the best delivery possible with some of the best players in the league kicking it down his throat. But it was not keeping their full back to 4 goals in a high scoring game that has won Cooney my vote, it is the fact that he also earnt himself I think 23 posessions. From Full back. Even doggies conceded it was probably the most disposals simmed from full back.

So that is my vote for the NAB rising star, but it is not official. Happy to change my mind if someone prooves me wrong or the two vice captains disagree.

Best and Fairest:​

Excluding the captain and two vice captains, I believe it is good to choose a best and fairest from general posting, not neccesarily by post count, but by what they have said, and how they have conducted themselves. This one is soley the captain's award and is official. It is soley based on my opinion. The two vice captains and myself are not included due to the fact we all had positions of responsibility to take on board anyway. My Best and Fairest award winner will be Perth Swans. Swans, who was originally listed as a mere reserve, posted his way into a decent position and made it clear from the start that he was enthusiastic and highly capable of posting when it counts. I would love to be a teammate with Perth Swans for a club in this league at some stage down the track. He was heard from all angles, and was honourable in defeat, showing excellent leadership and commitment to what was a fun experience. Well done Perth Swans.

And finally, a massive thankyou to all. I will not name every individual but I will thank every single person who nominated for the newbies, and particularly those who made the final team. We talked it up, we lost, but we had a lot of fun in the progress and I am sure learnt more about the depth of the competition and the league in general. I know I am better for the experience and have a greater and wider appreciation of the league. Possibly, one day down the track, captaining a team is something I may enjoy doing. And if somewhere down the track I was starting a club from scratch there are some guys here who would be the first to get a PM asking them to leave their respective clubs to join the new team. Because I kn ow that you would make it work. But it was definately made easy by all the people who helped. This is where I thank the two vice captains who were tremendous helps. It meant I did not have to go through everything, and they came up with plenty of ideas. Behind the scenes, they were instrumental in letting me know particular things in helping me choose teams and so forth. I picked them out early, without knowing them, but they prooved my original assumtions correct. Thank you. And to those who helped by simming praccy games, making team jumpers etc...all of it was appreciated and although we did not get the result, we certainly proved that this breed of newbies will assure the strength of this competition. And although the legends talk it up and say they hate us, deep down I think a few know that without us, there would be no competition. And although there are some people who play in the league without posting, we are not some of them. This team of guys (and potentially girls, im not sure) were actively involved. Whether it was a line here and there sledging the old farts or giving suggestions or encouraging the team, you were involved. Thankyou.​
