I think we are all a bit sick of talking about our midfield or lack of. But I think Newman looks the goods. Good build that will get stronger and has a bit of go in him.
We should let him loose in the middle for the rest of the season.
Rodan is all class.

I think we can get carried away criticising the coaching staff for not giving the youngsters enough game time. Someone like Newman has to show that he can get some of the pill before he can be considered for the midfield. These young blokes like Pettifer have to start gathering some ball when they're on the ground.

newman was recruited as a half back and i have followed his progress closely.
he has past pettifer already as far as im concerned and will be groomed to take over from cameron when he retires.

I liked what I saw of Newman in the Roos game. Seems like he has a cool head under pressure and was prepared to back himself.
Are his kicking skills up to scratch for a Cameron role T_o_o?

he has a bit of improvement kicking wise i mean if he,s half as good as cameron then he will fill that roll perfectly.
he does sort of "float the ball" without to much penetration however with a bit of confidence at senior level and id say cameron would be taking him under his wings there is plenty of scope in his kicking.

Looking back on this now, he is the only remaining player of a whole gen of draftees!! Who would have thought he would be the first player to start playing that would be apart of our next finals team 11 years later!! the countdown to our finals return was started the moment he made his debut!
