Did anyone see Chris Newman's goal today in his 100th versus Freo.

How far do you reckon that ball went? I'm gonna say 75-80m.

Abosolute BEAST! btw solomon= weak footballer, can't believe he gets a game for Freo

It wasnt a tough kick for Newman. Anyone who watches him pre-game will notice that at the end of pre-game warm-up he always barrells a ball from the goal square and it always lands in the middle of the ground. He is very good at his torps.

weak? riiiiiight. haha. so what does that make the excuse of a bloke who took a cheap shot at him behind the play?

bigger than Fletchers?
Probably was, Newman was about 30 metres from the 50 Metre line and the ball sailed about 7 or 8 behind the goal line too.

You will see some replays and comparisons anyway, I am sure of that.

I haven't seen it but it'd have to be pretty good to be any better then brennans goal from the boundary last night

Should not have even got to kick it.

Should have been a free to Solly for High contact.

Hopefully the MRP will cite Newman and the Ump will be in the VFL next week.
solomon is so un discipline like many other freo players, if i was coach i would drop them to the reserves for a couple of weeks to teach em a lesson about being discipline

Hopefully the MRP will cite Newman ...

Very short-sighted. How does that help you guys? You don't play Richmond again this season, and with Newman on the ground the Tigers are far more likely to do some damage to your real competition.

That's one of the key reasons why everyone is so gracious and obliging when forced to give evidence at the tribunal after being whacked. Have you not worked that out yet?

He was 2 meteres inside the centre square line .
Do the maths .

He was about 2 thirds from the centre of the oval to the square.

Subi Oval is 178m long and teh centre square is 50m x 50m which makes the kick (lets work it out):

Goal line to 50 m arc - 50m
50m Arc - to square 14m
Centre square 50m
Square to Arc 14m
Arc to goal line 50m
= 50 + 14 +50 +14 +50 = 178

There fore (I beleive) that Newman was 9m from the square and the ball carried 7m past the goals (it half volleyed into the fence)

So 9m + 14m + 50 m + 7m = 80m............ HUGE
