It just breaks my heart to see people allowed to participate in our society who go out of their way to hurt other people. We wonder why crimes like Adrian Bayley/ Jill Meagher occur despite Adrian coping repeated criminal convictions.

If a dog bites a person we put the dog down. We do this as they are a known risk and deemed not safe in society.

Time out might be more appropriate than putting "this" dog down but if we lived in "power raidistan" he would leave prison in 3-5 years without his nuts. Like a dog, he might calm down after being neutered.

And then someone expands the range of crimes you can be neutered for, and then we’re gassing homosexuals and Jews.

There are laws that apply and they must be applied uniformly. This is an outlier - reporting on hundreds of reasonable judicial decisions that happen every day is not good for clicks and TV ratings.

Kennett’s on his high horse when he used to be a lawmaker and should know better.

I must admit, at first glance it's hard to see how that guy was granted bail.

That was a pretty brutal attack on someone and the result could have easily been a lot worse.
