Employee underpays employees 7 million dollars, ordered to pay them the money fined $200,000, quite conceivably considering he had 7 millions for quite some lengthof time, is actually up on the whole affair,

Employee takes 7 mullion dollars of Employer's money looking at 5-10 years.

It was a very cheap loan. Until he got caught and now it is costing him a lot more.

Really if he borrowed 7,6 million for that length of time would he had paid more interest than the actual fine he received?

If not how has he been punished in any way shape or form?

7.6 million is not a mistake. the penalty seems not to fit the crime. If an employee embezzled 7.6 million it would be treated a lot harsher. It seems completely different justice system depending on what your status is.

corporate governance and how banks and other companies break the rules and make lots of money and when court the punishment is hardly deterrent. Hav ethe banks truly paid more in fines than their dodgy practices netted them in profits?

Unless regulation have teeth and enforcement, companies are going to continue to ignore them.

And how is that part of the legal system? The Question is has the punishment fitted the crime. You think the pounish should be reduced to almost nothing at all because his business might suffer because he's known crook?

Reputational damage is enough you think. we should just publish bank robber names, ask them for the money bank and fine them a few thousand dollars,

The Punishment for dishonest, crooked, shocky, and outright theft in business is on the whole not much,

$200,000 fine. pay back the money he stole. if he borrowed the money he would have paid more in intrest,

He;s actually made money from the entire saga. How has he been punished?
If an employee took 7.6 million fro his business they would get jail time.

I didn't say it was.

I said this is part of the actual price he has paid for his "cheap" loan from his employees.

Nowhere did I say it was any sort of replacement for legal punishment.

It's certainly a reaosnalbe implication of your statement.. When i say he's got off lightly and your reply is but restaurants have taken a hit, the implication is the reputation damage is in some way justifies the light punishment.

My posts were saying the man has got off lightly, saying his paid a dear price and restruatautnats have taken a hit certainly sems to imply that he has not got off lightly and the punishment was enough.

Perhaps you should be clearer about what you are saying.

Apparently the leaked documents surrounding the Uyughur detention camps is fake news.

Further: a quote from this article.

Earlier on Monday, China's Foreign Ministry did not deny the documents' authenticity, but said the program had been successful and the "experience could be borrowed in other countries".

That's right the detention "program" has been successful and could be "borrowed" by other countries.:drunk: I'm sure the Uyughurs thought it was successful in keeping them detained too!

That's right according to Xi this is all fake news but the Chinese foreign ministry doesn't deny that the documents are real.

Anyone up for a game of conflict of interest?

You crazy Chinese!, so funny!

Thanks Joshy! Now that you want me to work til I die, do I get paid to build my own coffin? Any jobs goin there at Capitol Hill? Or does Capitol Hill have an ageist policy? Do you have free training? At 70 yo I need a job to get job skills so I can get a job, if my age doesn't go against me.

Sacked for faking a sickie and taking his son to Wiggles concert.

Fair Work Deputy Alan Colman a tad harsh in his comments...maybe a warning dickhead

.....and on a lighter note, I was watching ABC News24 this morning and the female reporter on the spot at they Sydney Fish Markets called the market's General Manager a porn star, lol.

She had just been talking about prawns with Georgie Tunny in the studio when they went live to the GM and she called him porn star, lmao. He didn't miss a beat and said that he ought to grow a 70s style moustache.
