very few clubs in the AFL could survive a 900k fine and two yrs loss of draft picks....AND then send their membership to a record level as well as remain cashed up.....we'll be back soon
Essendon could pay that and still have 6 mill in the bank...plus we dont need a crisis to get a record membership;)

I hope our next president makes sure none of this **** happens again...im getting ****en sick of it. Time to grow up at windy Hill. They have done a great job turning our club into a financial monster. But stuff like this takes away from the good work they have done
Have to agree here.

To me it doesn't really matter if we acted on good legal advice and ran things with an open book - the fact is, there shouldn't even be any question about it.

Snipe? I call a spade a spade. I've explained to you before that Essendon were not over the cap when Ron Evans was in charge, the AFL's own website specifies that. Despite this you've repeatedly claimed Evans oversaw salary cap breaches. If that's not lying what is it?

http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=67344

The offence in 1992 was an incorrectly lodged contract involving a sum of eight thousand and eighty five dollars. The club did not breach the cap that year.

, but you didn't really explain anything much did you mate.
I gave up as you never listen.

How's about you tell us exactly which years Essendon have been done for breaching the cap then.
1994 -1996 according to the AFL

I will bet you $100 that Essendon have breached the cap (for whatever reason) at least 4 times in the 90's. Put up or shut up Dave, no sniping this time, give us some facts.
Hand it over then. According to the documentation it was three years only. There were two years where the club was fined for incorrectly submitted contracts however these did not involve a breach of the cap.

And also Dave, it's pretty low act to call someone a liar when you damn well know I'm not lying. I may not have the exact years right but I know that at least 4 breaches occurred. I'll accept your apology in advance, thanks Dave.
You've lied about evans repeatedly in the past. You claim the AFL has a vendetta against your club. The only vendetta evident is the one your are waging against Evans.

On another thread someone asked you if such a vendetta existed how was it the penalties handed out for carltons first few offences were so light. Amazingly you have so far not seen fit to answer that.

A $2 million dollar fine and 12 premiership points lost would be suffice. That is in my eyes harsh, and it would hurt the bombers to the point of teaching the lesson req'd. With a lesser club you'd revise the fine but only marginally.
That'd see the end of the cap and draft. I wonder if you have an ulterior motive ;)
