I am without an opinion on the coach as non of the names mentioned on 5AA this morning filled me with great joy. Does anyone have any inside knowledge?

I'm starting to edge towards us pulling another coach out of the mist ... rather than just pluck an obvious from the list of eligible candidates.

Maybe 55 year old Brendan McCartney is a look in? He seems to have a lot of the characteristics we loved in PW. I would be very interested in him.
No thanks. McCartney did a horrible job at the dogs. Not sure where this sudden love affair with him has come from around the network.

The only thing McCartney and PW have in common are their age profile.

The guys I'd be looking at getting to our club in some capacity are Tudor, Pyke and Lade. I'd also be seeing if Ross Lyon was interested in abandoning a rapidly aging list.

Im pretty annoyed our clubs admin appears to be outdone by Essendons for the services of Wossha.
For our club to be picked second to that rabble of crackheads is concerning.
Maybe its more to do with living in Adelaide

What do you want our Admin to do kidnap him and hold him hostage in the coaches box

Maybe its more to do with that wanker Little being a better guy than Fages? I don't know. He is already here. Has been talked about for months as our possible new coach. He has built a bond with the players, coaches and admin. Yet, he doesn't want to be here. Would rather go to the most hated team in the comp, than stay here. Not only that but didn't even tell Fages that he was talking to them. For the not so bright that ="s a lack of respect to our Admin. ie, he doesn't respect them.

Maybe it's more to do with him not being the right man for the job at our club?

Would rather live in Melbourne

The AFC is fighting a battle that Adelaide is not a destination state

People need to understand that convincing people to move to Adelaide is a real issue

Didn't Camporeale? Statistically I am sure he has a good record. It's probably a decision I have to trust the club with. A novice coach is a novice coach.
Um where did Campo do that? Also, Pkyke helped get us to a couple of Prelims too. He's no novice coach, widely regarded as a similar tactical brain to Walsh.

Thought about this today. I believe worsfold has been virtually told for some reason he wont have the head coach position and hes exploring his options. Pyke is the man from what ive heard. It is puzzling to think though out of all the clubs why the **** you would go to essendon. $$$.. They are a rabble and wont challenge for a long time. Could end up like malthouse.

1.5 million reasons to go there. Probably double what he'll get here.

Can someone get in touch with the AFC Board of directors and tell them that the selection committee for the new Crows Coach has not idea what they're doing. The committee that selects, reviews skill set and then goes through the interview process with prospective applicants aren't best placed to choose the new coach.

Please tell them there are some on the Crows Big Footy forum that are much more experienced in choosing the applicants, they are in a better position because:
1) they have never had any contact with prospective applicants nor have they had any personal contact with any applicants.
2) are better placed because of what they think or read in the media.
3) have an intimate knowledge of these applicants strengths and weaknesses because of points 1 & 2 above.
4) won't be involved in the interview process so are better placed to identify the new coach.
5) don't know any of the applicants knowledge on the game, game plans, or thoughts on the direction of the game and what we need to build towards.

IMO Pyke will be a Clarkson style of coach, very innovated with a unsociable footy touch

Agree.. An interesting read in the Age by Wallsy. Basically stating Worsfold a great man but average coach.. And that McCartney would be a fantastic option.. Was at Geelong for 11 years and developed that list and then made the tough calls at the Dogs.. Look at them now. We all credit Beveridge and so we should but those kids with 50 games under their belts success this year must have plenty to do with McCartney. Walls also explains he only lost his job cause the old players weren't having fun so rebelled against him..
If we can get Pyke, keep Campo and move heaven and earth to get McCartney as DOC, that is a sensational coaching group.
