All clubs but Essendon have showed good faith in this space

I would rather work with all the other clubs in good faith than be viewed in the same light as Essendon
You have said previously that your gut was telling you that we already had a guy stitched up for the job. That's all fine if he was already at the club (i.e. Woosha/Campo) but if he's come from outside the club that means we've spoken to somebody while they're still coaching at another club. How is that any better than what Chicken Little did?

If you ask the other club for permission to talk to the candidate its all sweet and all the clubs agreed on this. The problem with Essendon is they didn't ask or inform the crows that they were talking to Woosha.

Because we would have asked the clubs permission to talk to them before doing so. Essendon didn't, in breach of an agreement between clubs

It was never about not speaking with guys, it was only doing it with the other teams permission (which Essendon didn't do with Woosha). And West Coast are still in the finals so we haven't done anything wrong since we haven't announced that Pyke is the coach and taken away from the Eagles (if he gets the job)

Integrity. Something Essendon will never know about.

adding to that, if we have stitched up our man already and possibly weeks ago, then it means we are showing the ultimate respect by keeping it under wraps until their season is over.

That isn't something that us normal and in the past not considered necessary and in fact detrimental to the club as it delays preparations for next season.

Carlton didn't do that to a team in the top 4, Essendon marched in in the lead up to a final. Not sure how you can't see how we can be considered any different.

Maybe the responsibilities of head coach will change to more of an expanded DOC role with far more responsibility given to the other coaches, and maybe a true senior assistant will over see the other assistants, I'm not sure.

That is possibly more inline with how the Hawks do things going by the stories of how Clarkson works.

Whatever the answer is the fact Port and the Eagles before them had the quality of Walsh helping the head coach shows what we are lacking. Have a look at the experience of Ross Lyon's assistants and he would be one of the most capable coaches in the AFL.
Answering this before reading further but.......This is a big point. Big solid point. It is often difficult,(from the fan perspective) to know just what individual assistant coaches are made of, but when I look at the power and influence of Phil Walsh, he was massive. Then to realise he was a support to Hinkley, shows how much strength, force of personality and influence that team of coaches probably possessed. Yes it does show what we are lacking.

Bicks reckons Woosha to Essendon due to lifestyle
Supposedly back seeing his ex-wife and things have kick started again. Think from memory she also has a pretty decent job over there that she would like to stay in(???).

Think this may also be a big factor in his final decision (if true).
