Andy Otten really needs the AFL to introduce a reduction in interchanges to say 40. That way, the game will slow down. If he tried to play F1 AFL football, he will be way too slow.

Hopefully he can hang on but I doubt it.
The forwards he plays on will still be either too tall, too explosive or too strong for him even if the overall pace of the game slows.

Yes you're right. I think, sadly, Otten might be cooked. Need to get games into the next gen like McGovern and Ramsey
True, I think McGovern and Ramsey are better long term options for forwards. But Otten is only 26 and it would definitely be worth giving him another low-money short-term contract as depth.

I'd rather we replace Siggins if we're going to replace a defender. Hasn't been close to AFL level really.

We won't get Luke Beverage but I want someone with him football values.

Work hard, follow team rules or you will get deroipped. Doesn't matter who you are.

Crameri and McCray have spent time in the VFL.

Treat every single player the same. Hold every single player to account and make then earn their place in the side.
Great post Alex

Post of the thread thus far.

I don't like Campo. He's been our midfield coach for years and it's a debacle still. Sheer clearance numbers are ok, but compare the quality to our opponents and we're not in the same ballpark. Then there's the general play defensive press and it's shit. His CV is wholly meh. Worked under Sheedy in his last year of so, Matty Knights, Neil Craig's last year or so and then 3 years under Sando. Has not been part of a group that has gotten close to sustained success.

Campo doesn't inspire confidence he can do the job.

Still stand by it, he makes the finals and the club will give him the job.
100% agree that Trigg-led Crows would. I'm quietly confident that the new roogime won't fall for that and will again look for best available.

If nothing else he will make our whole side more defensively accountable. Didn't like the style Norwood played but it sure was effective.
People say the same about Freo and Sydney game style. I'd prefer the flag to the highs and lows of whatever brand of football. I think he would work wonders with a team of mentally fragile young lads such as ours.

Cvs are bullshit.

Its only when the pressure is on do you see the true value of any individual, be it a coach or player.

From what I've seen of campo under pressure, I think he just isn't ready to be a head coach.

Campo strikes me as a coach that plays the percentages and does the expected. This is even more evident when under pressure.

Perhaps this will change with experience, but I'm not sure this is the type of coach we need at the moment.
