Good question

I think Stevens would be the most likely suspect at the moment. Campo will be nearing his last couple of years by the time Kouta retires and from what I saw of Steven's this year (i.e footage at the huddles at quarter time etc), he looks like a natural leader.

But there's also a chance in 2-3 years time that a youngster such as Walker is in a position to captain the club.

Stevens certainly suits the role, i really wish campo did get a shot at it but that's highly unlikely as time goes on, but in saying that i still would rather Stevens, he would be a captain that certainly backs up his mouth, kind of like a jimmy hird but totally different styles of play, Stevens is very consistant as well as Hird, and it seems to really help a team if the captain stands tall on game day.

Whitnall, I'm not sure he'd want the captaincy.

Camporeale, possibly too old by the time the next captain is chosen.

Stevens, the most likely suspect, if he's still with the Blues!

Waite, yet to see what he's capable of. 2005 will hopefully be his break-out season.

Thornton, in two years time he will be AA material.

First time in a while i've disagreed with you mate. Stevens would have to be a certainty. Campo will be too old by the time it comes around again, and i'm not sure if Whitnall really is the right person for the job. Youngsters like Waite, Walker, etc, really haven't proven themselves yet.

Fevola or Norman. ;)

Seriously, Nick Stevens you would think would be a shoe once Kouta retires. However if Lance fires in the next year and gets back to the form he showed in 1999&2000 then it would be hard to look past him considering he was touted as the next captain of the club when he was kicking butt a few seasons back.

Good chance but I dont think he is "leadership" material, He isnt aggresive enough on the field, can't really tear a team apart like the players above can.

He certainly is leadership material and is spoken of fondly by other players. Had only played 32 games and was placed in the leadership group.
I can see where you are coming from with him not tearing teams apart, but he just does his job every week.
