With his next contract taking him into free agency I think that will the last contract to take him through to a PAFC player for lifeThe last contract was the one we needed to get Boak through... He's ours now for good....and will be our next Captain.

Honestly how can you be 100% certain he will stay with beyond free agency..
What half of you seem to neglect about the Boak saga is we are paying him 700k a year money he hasn't earnt if he went back to Vic his contract wouldn't even be near that....and if he was commited to us why only sign with us for 2 years.
Cause he only has ever worked with 2 year contracts.
I do want boak as captain...not because I think he is he best choice I am just hoping extra responsibility will help him reach an elite level which I doubt but I think it's worth a shot.
A clean run with injuries will also help
Brad will be elite captaincy or not he has a massive chance to win our first brownlow
Yeah, not really the type of player who wins brownlow's

Im not saying he will go, or if he will stay. but if we thought this years contract negotiation was a headf**k wait until his next one as he will be a restricted free agent. Will port match a lucrative 4-5 year dear from someone like geelong? Brad moved here to live and stay he came to the club at a time of need.Honestly how can you be 100% certain he will stay with beyond free agency..

I am confident the decision has been made.We wont find out who our next captain is for a while... i heard Rohde on the radio the other day saying that the captaincy wont be decided until just before the NAB cup
I agree...
The problem that people neglect is that boak is on a 700k contract for only 2 years....
It's a massive massive clusterf... Come the end of his contract, as in 2 years time we have at least 5 blokes who could command that kind of money or at the very least command more money then what they are on now. Then what?
It's speculated Boak is on $700k a year. And even if he is on $700k a year who would you suggest the money go to if Boak isn't getting it?
The media make up contract $$$ based on the player and the club they play for. Only player + club know the exact figure.
700k fits with the 'nobody wants to play for ports' angle.
Boak capt, Ebert vice.
I am not saying now....I could say but it just go on forever last one ended in that this board thinks boak is better then beams and I ain't going there again.
Sure but you have the AFL annual report that has the number of players that earn in each $100k band from $1mil down. Given there were
a) 20 players who made $600k+ in 2011 and
b) another 20 who made between $500k and $600k,
and that the salary cap increased by $575k approx in 2012 and another $400k in each of 2013 and 2014 and that he signed a new contract in 2012, we don't have many high profile high paid experienced stars, and we have to pay 95% of the cap, $700k is a pretty good estimate
No it didn't. I don't know what Boak has done to piss you off so badly, but whenever you talk about him you sound like an Advertiser journo.
I am sorry I didn't realise I wasnt allowed an opinion that goes against the grain...
You're entitled to your opinion, the problem is when you misrepresent facts. You've done it twice on this page alone.
How so?
REH seems to think 700k is acceptable I think he is pretty non biased on the issue and defiantly his opinions are more educated then most and a pretty respectable poster dam he even broke it down for you so you can understand his conclusionBoak on a 700k a year contract: Wrong.
Boak better than Beams: Nobody said that.
I ain't going back the beams convo but I swear to you ppl were laughing when I mentioned beams to boak but this will get way off topic and I don't won't to go there so I will just leave it at that.
