The other option is to reduce the point value of subsequent picks. The more picks you use, the more the points drop off. Eg:So that’s his only brother? I was thinking Marra had a little brother that wasn’t too far off but could be mistaken.

Honestly the AFL needs to make a call either way, this half assed fence sitting approach is a joke.
Either option A) make all academies (NGA & Northern states) league run with ALL players going into the open pool, or option B) just embrace it and let all clubs have full access to their academy players BUT fix the system so ALL clubs have to pay a fair price to match a bid, mainly fix the point system (add value to top picks, remove lots of value from lower picks)
1st pick: 100%
2nd pick: 80%
3rd pick: 50%
4th pick: 15%
Any more is nothing. This forces teams to use higher picks.
